Ok, it has been decided that the PC race that fits me best is a kender. The words, "Heay isn't this yours?" whn pulling something out of my pocket has really happened and i almost got thrown out of our newest campaign for taunting the DM. When someone ask for something I can usually find it in my pockets. If not it usually is because i did not put it back in after last using it. (must rember to put screwdriver back) Now my delemia. WE DONT PLAY Dragon Lance CAMPAIGNS!!! What can I suggest to my DM to allow me to play a kender character in a non DL campaign?

Just play a kleptomaniac halfling rogue with a thing for long hair.

Buy a pair of trousers.... They have pockets ;)

Seriously, that pockets thing and the taunts are easily solved through roleplaying.... For the pockets, you just make clear to the DM and players that you're getting everything you find in your pockets (find or buy a Handy Haversack or one of those Bags of Holding), and make up the taunts.... If you almost got thrown of the campaign for taunting the Dm, you can RP a halfling with a thing for taunting.....

Seriously, for taunting just get a highish int, and take a good selection of languages (I believe you get one bonus language for every point of Int bonus). Then, call that Orc a 'pansy-waist elf-lover' in Orcish, and if he DOESN'T charge you, the DM's not RPing the character well. That was mostly where the Taunt ability was useful anyway, on stupid henchmen.
