Sargon 05-16-05, 05:24 PM	I got totally ambushed by my party leader... A Lawful Good Character... See what happen was My character (Kirk) and the Master Thrower (Zeltra) went on a little side mission that got a few innocent people murdered.. It wasn't at all my fualt thought See.. Kirk has a low wisdom.. (BTW he is a Battle Sor.) Sandru the Party leader was trying ot set up a bussiness and Zeltra killed on of his main contacts.. anyway on to the ambush. So Sandru gathers us up and tells us we are goign to kill this upspur rivial and we have all the details we need as far as location and all that (Great Intel) So we do our standard infultration. teleport in... except we Teleport into a room full of people waiting on us.. I thought that was kind of wierd but Kirk dominated one guy and killed another finnally we killed all the people there.. So we move on to find out that the target has moved.. to a "more secure location" that our great intel already has scryed out for us.. So we teleport there.. and in two hits i do 134 damage to the guy.. ( shocking missile with a base damage of 2d8 so that 12d8+20 twice ). very shortly later Zeltra kills the target. I used my alter self spell to take the identity of the target. So guards come running into the room and they see thier boss standing up near a dead body that looks like thier boss... Guards-"What happen in here." Sandru-" i donnu assiassians came out of no where like this" Cue the teleport spells that pops in four dervish fighter and another Sandru ( he had some type of Ice replica of himself made ) The dervish's subdue Zeltra and i got away va use of Deminsion Door before the deminonal Anchor was cast... To bad for Zeltra.. A gate was then opened to the ninth layer of hell and handed over to one of the dark eight.. My character is no on the run from Sandru who is more than capable of tracking me down and killing me if he wanted to.. It just sucks... I know its a bit of a rabmle and not very relevant to anything but i thought it was a good story and wanted to tell someone.. i need to put some ranks into proffesion storyteling i guess.

Yruc 05-17-05, 07:16 AM	Hard to follow the story, but I'll take a stab at it. You have a battle sorcerer named Kirk. You have another party member Zeltra. Zeltra purposely killed an NPC that your party leader (Sandru) needed to talk to? Sandru is a lawful good somebody? Why would a lawful good somebody want to "kill" a rivial? Why would a lawful good somebody open a portal/gate to the 9 hells and how? Did just you and Zeltra teleport each time or did the whole party? If you were all a bunch of evil characters then this would be the normal type of thing that goes on in though parties. :) Are you looking for advice? just wanted to share? If looking for advice need more details, levels, equipment, class(es). I'd say turn yourself into the nearest (good) temple and ask for atonement as killing someone because they are a business rivial is chaotic evil)

No really.. i was a player.. Let me see if i cane be alittle more clear about it. Kirk and Zeltra teleported to a location and killed a rivial of the party. Zeltra tortured and killed most of the rivial bussniess persons servants. Kirk cast lighting bolt on one and whipped one with cat-o-nine tails type whip. Sandru was using scry on us since we mystresly disappeard and he heard we went on some busniess (for a busniess he owns) and didn't say anything to him about it. So he saw everything. Sandru is alignment wise is alittle between Lawful good and Netrual Good. HE did not approve of killing people who didn't deserve it So he set a trap for us and subded Zeltra and used the NPC wizard to open a gate to hell (Its kind of a long story how he Got a Lord of Devils to agree to this lets just say Sadnru's grandfather and this Devil lord where old card playing buddies.) Kirk used deminson door to get away before the demsional anchor was cast and is no on the run... I was just sharing I thought it was fun.. even though my character is on the run now.. Like i said i need to put some ranks in story telling. And after all that i decided not to send the mto hell after all Thoromir... just so ya know.
Morka 05-17-05, 11:56 AM	Ok, you killed your target and, with Alter Self spell, you took your target's apparence. And Zeltra, your LG leader, suddenly send you into an ambush. Could it be possible that one of your foe killed or subdued the real Zeltra, and used Alter Self to look like Zeltra?????

NinjaPenguin 05-17-05, 07:21 PM	Oh for the simple Aasamar Paladin, Tiefling Rogue/Ninja combo we had going ;) Seriously, i know what its like to be the one backstabbed by the 'good guys' :P So there we were... he didn't KNOW i was evil, see, since we were dipping a teeny bit into Ravenloft. Any rate we'de been adventuring for a long while, and i saved his bacon no fewer than 3 times in a 1 week period of game time. Not bad for a selfish NE evil chick ;). So one day he gets this command from his organization that i've become 'unnessecery' and that i need to be 'eliminated'. Way to give the Pally internal moral dillemma's right? Either commit a Chaotic act by defying the Order, or commit an Evil act by killing me in my sleep. Guess which one he opted for. Two guesses, first doesn't count. ;) Right, he decided to murder a defenseless Tiefling in her sleep, who showed outwardly every sign of being at least not-Evil, if not strictly Good. Sure i dealt with the seedier customers in town for some cheaper 'used' equipment for our travels. Its what I do! Never did anything to tip him off. But hey, i still lived though it, somehow :cool: Still, party dynamics are fun, indeed.
feartheinvinceblehamster 05-17-05, 07:54 PM	look. if you can get the first spell in and stand up on a cliff raining spells on him the paladin will make a nice soup. if you are a battle sorcereror or warmage you can crush him like the miseable bug he is. zap him, flame him, obliterate him. and talk to your DM about making the paladin lose his abilities

Super Guy 06-01-05, 03:43 PM	So you, Zeltra, and Sandru are all players in a campaign, yes? I don't know if Sandru should've done what he did. If he's a paladin, he will probably never be able to regain his paladinhood unless he undertakes a huge trial that has a very good chance of killing him. Turning you in is one thing. Knocking out a party member and friend by backstabbing them, then consorting with Devils is fiendish behavior. Kiss goodbye to Smite Evil. Also, it's fueled by revenge. Why else would he actually send someone straight to hell so he could be tortured without having a chance to defend what he did or anything? If he's not a paladin, he's... almost neutral. I know good people can slip up once in a while, but that's not a slip, that's pretty much jumping off of a damn 5 story building.
