| fallabel06-25-05, 08:42 PM | Do you own the Player's Handbook? Also, do you mean Warrior or Fighter? 'Warrior' is an NPC class, and I highly doubt that you'd have picked one of those. |
| Roreck06-25-05, 08:44 PM | umm by warrior do you mean Fighter/Barbarian or the NPC class Warrior Fighter/Barbarian have a BAB = to their level Fighter/Barbarian can use any simple or marital weapons. Damage for weapons is Str Mod + weapon damage - enemies DR (if any/applicable) + any bonuses (magical weapon bonus, etc.) Weapon Damage depends on the weapon and is in the PHB idk what page (lent mine to a friend) Now if you meant Warrior the NPC class that is on pg 109-110 DMG and they have the same BAB progression as fighters/barbarians and can use all marital and simple weapons as well |
| Dragen White06-25-05, 08:58 PM | unless im mistaken it s the same thing as a fighter listed in the PHB (Players Handbook) if you don't have one yet, i suggest you get one, its like the most important book short of the DMG (dungeon masters guide). Ok first page 37 in the PHB will start you out on everything you need to know about fighters, but for right now, ill go ahead and list the important things. the fighters base attack starts at +1 and increases by one for every level, at increments of 5 these attacks increase, for example at 6th level +6/+1 and at 11th +11/+6/+1 and so on these are your base attack bonus's and determine how well and how often you strike during a round, When attacking you will add you strength bonus, subtracting if negative, to this bonus, your weapon will not apply any bonus's unless it is masterwork which is a +1, or magical ranging from +1 to +10. If this total meets or beats your targets AC (armor class) which should always be 10 + armor bonus + dex + whatever he might have then you hit. Then to apply damage with what type of weapon your using look on page 116 or 117 in the PHB, on the list it will say Dmg 2d6 or 1d4, that is the damage you roll, the first number being how many and the second being the type of dice, such as two, foursided dice for a 1d4. also after rolling the damage assigned to the weapon you can add you strength or subtract it if its modifier is in the negative. Masterwork weapons only add to the attack not the damage, but magical enhancments will if you have any of those add them. such as a +2 longword with a strength of 13 (mod +1) would deal 1d8+2+1. Also the dmg depends on your charicters size!!! so read the equipment list carefully. And the list of what type of weapons you can use is back on page 38 of the PHB, under weapons and armor profeiciency. let me tell you right now your pretty proficient with everything except exotic weapons. So to figure out what kind of weapons your profeicent with go back to the equipment list and in categories they are listed as simple/ heavy/ exotic, any wepons that fall under what profiecency you have you can weild without penalties. I know its alot but i hope it helped. |
| Roreck06-25-05, 09:19 PM | in categories they are listed as simple/ heavy/ exotic :embarrass actually it is simple/martial/exotic. other than that your above post is quite correct. btw nitpicking the one error from an otherwise perfect post is a personal hobby of mine no offense meant. I just don't have much else to do with my time so nitpicking is how I will occupy my over-supply of time. |
