Is Ghost step Ability like the spell invisibility? I ask Because The ninja in my group has told the DM that is invisibility last all round even if he attacks, I just want to know if this is true. It makes it really hard to hit him in combat.

There was already a thread on this very subject. Can't remember where. I believe they concluded that ninjas use the invisibility effect rather than the spell (since it doesn't say "as the spell" in the description). Therefore, attacking wouldn't break invisibility.

I agree with this interpretation, though that is purely a gut reaction.

The text simply says he becomes invisible. At no point does it reference the spell, or stipulate that he stops being invisible. Therefore, he does not become visible because he attacks.

On the other hand, it only lasts on round so it's not like it's "uber broken" or anything.

This is much better than the way our group is using this ability currently.

I'll have to inform the Ninja his class abilities are a bit better.

And he won't have to take levels of shadowdancer; he can probably use his Ghost Step to go invis, attack, move, make his hide check, then snipe the rest of the fight.

I had a threat on it a couple weeks ago. It came up in game. It appears that it isn't broken as the spell & lasts for 1 entire round per usage. It really isn't that powerful, except when you have a habit of only 1-2 battles a day. I tend towards this alot, so it makes the Ninja in the party really powerful right now. Luckily she hasn't thought about using Two-weapon fighting yet.

It is invisible until the start of the ninja's next round. Was confirmed either in the faq, or in DM's rules advice board... can't remember which.
