Our group decided it'd be fun to play an Exalted campaign. So, we did. We all made characters, and I decided to go for the Slayer of Domiel PrC (good-aligned assassin), since I didn't play a rogue character in a while.
Somewhere along the second session, I remembered exactly why I never played a rogue character. It was plain boring, for starters. I like action, not waiting, sneaking, and hoping you won't be seen. Second of all, it was that the particular DM never made his campaigns rogue-compatible. There where no traps AT ALL. If there ever was a combat, it was going to be an all-out combat, with little or no chance to land a successful sneak attack.

It's my fault for choosing a character which didn't fit my style of play, and I admit that. However, the DM will not allow me to roll up a new character, since where in the middle of a campaign (session three, to be exact). I understand that it might be a little troublesome for the DM to work in a new character story-wise, but I'm now stuck with a character which is an absolute drag to play, and that isn't making the game more enjoyable for me, or for my fellow players. What do you think could be done to resolve this?

No need to change your character; just change your focus. Since Hide and Move Silently won't be useful, don't bother putting any more ranks in it (or at least, no more than necessary to hit your PrC).

The rogue as a stealthy sneaking ambush-fighter is a time-honored classic, but it's far from the only possible archetype that fits with the Rogue's abilities. You have Bluff, Diplomacy, and Sense Motive, which would make you an excellent party spokesman, for example. Besides, Sneak Attack is always useful if you can get into a Flanking position, and you get to Sneak Attack at the beginning of the fight against people who haven't acted yet ... it just kinda stinks that your DM doesn't grasp Surprise Rounds.

You could just change your PrC interests, too, and Multiclass into something that gets you there ... for example, switch to Ranger and head for the Stalker of Kharash, which has the same skill requirements (but not feat/alignment requirements) of the Slayer.

Surprise Rounds: that which can make rogues into impressive fighters.
Saps: that which can make rogues into terrors for anything other than the undead…

Yep like Salla said, If you are in a flanking position you get your sneak attack.

Some folks have trouble getting out of that 2nd edition mindset of "Backstabbing" and some Dm's forget about the flank business.

I say just Start focusing on fighting, Take some fighter levels, Ranger levels work wonders with any rogue (imho) Good charisma? try hexblade (Complete Warrior). Good Intel?? Try Swashbuckler. (cw)

A few rogue levels certaily wont hurt a warrior.

Heck a few level do nothing but help a fighter,
immunity to sneak attack,
sneak attack dice,
Skills skills skills!

If the character really bothers you, allow him to die well and nobly.

Being exalted, he goes off to his final reward and does not wish to return.

Time for a new character. Who isn't a rogue.
