| Seradec11-12-04, 11:21 AM | Can anyone think up a sparkling and gleaming new evolved character name? I wanna be a barbarian, so something brutal like would be appreciated, thx buds |
| Veomyr11-12-04, 11:35 AM | Konann? :D |
| General Dorsey11-12-04, 11:42 AM | I really like http://www.abgames.com/cgi-bin/randnames.pl for a way to generate some random names. For barbarians I choose Warhammer Style. The list I got this time was: Beastslicer - I like Grassdragger - Not great Grasswalker - Not great Horsedragger - Not great Teethwalker - Not Great Armpunsher - Not Great Headwalker - Ok Hobbitmangler - I like Ballkicker - I like, but wouldn't use Wraithhammer - I like |
| Thoronmir11-12-04, 11:55 AM | Thundarr? Maybe not. I remember when the Barbarian first appeared in Dragon Magazine back in the early 80's. My brother and I each made one and gave them names of famous "barbaric" football players ... Matuszak and Banazak. You could use contemporary players' names ... Urlacher the Barbarian isn't too bad. :) |
| Seradec11-12-04, 11:57 AM | cheers dude, I used the random thingy and got the name Kedinnor  to guy who said Konnan - :P |
| stevelabny11-12-04, 11:57 AM | Every barbarian I've ever used as an NPC was named LOTHAR of the Hill-People LOTHAR of the Hill-People |
| Seradec11-12-04, 12:01 PM | ok now I cant decide     |
| One Wolf11-12-04, 12:04 PM | Kar-rak His name sounds like his enemy's skull after whacking it with his axe. KAR-RAK!!! -One Wolf |
| Seradec11-12-04, 12:14 PM | by the way, did I mention decent names? :D |
| tec-9-711-12-04, 12:36 PM | Can anyone think up a sparkling and gleaming new evolved character name? I wanna be a barbarian, so something brutal like would be appreciated, thx buds Most non-silly one-word names are good, especially if you follow it with something like 'the Knee-Breaker' or 'the Skull-Cleaver' |
| CaoSlayer11-12-04, 12:42 PM | Dick the large always worked to me, specially with gnome as race. |
| CzarGarrett11-12-04, 12:44 PM | I think the race also has a bit to play. An Elven barbarian won't have a name all that similiar to a Dwarven barbarian. General had some good nicknames or non-racial names. |
| General Dorsey11-12-04, 01:45 PM | One Wolf, my roommate was going to name his barbarian something like that once. He changed his mind when we started saying: "But Krack..." |
| Xarian11-12-04, 01:58 PM | How about Gothak? |
| Doug McCrae11-12-04, 03:29 PM | My barbarian was called Ursa Skaldadottir. But it's a chick name. |
| Aluroon11-12-04, 04:45 PM | Dick the large always worked to me, specially with gnome as race. Thats just so wrong ;) Aluroon |
| Cloakable11-12-04, 06:44 PM | I usely name my Barbarians "Corgac Cloudrider". I to have a really hard time thinking of names, thats why almost all my characters are named the same :P |
| Shadowspinner11-20-04, 08:33 PM | Krunk! |
| bakomusha11-20-04, 08:38 PM | how about dave? |
| Ponderosa11-20-04, 08:41 PM | I'm not too sure about that name generator, General Dorsey. I just generated a list of names and the first one I got was "Manraper." |
| Ponderosa11-20-04, 08:42 PM | ...followed by, in my next two lists, "Fingerraper" and "Enemyraper." |
| Vix Damnul v211-20-04, 08:57 PM | Hahaha, oh man, those ARE good barbarian names. Seriously, if you heard the guy named "manraper" was after you, wouldn't you be intimidated and frightened? |
| Raymond_Luxury_Yacht11-20-04, 09:43 PM | Every barbarian I've ever used as an NPC was named LOTHAR of the Hill-People LOTHAR of the Hill-People That sounds vaguely familiar. Horrible B-movie, right? There's always the classic "Fumbuk". |
| Felonious Monk11-21-04, 12:11 AM | The DMPC I'm running is a horribly stereotypical half-orc barbarian named Grognash. |
| Hochiu11-21-04, 02:18 AM | That sounds vaguely familiar. Horrible B-movie, right? There's always the classic "Fumbuk". Saturday Night Live, I think it was the cast right before Farely came in. Mike Meyers was Lothar. |
| Astrimedes11-21-04, 03:13 AM | My friend always names his Nethack (any fans in here?) barbarians Kraah. I think its a neat barbarian name, sounds like battlecry but isnt too ridiculous like a lot of onamotapeia-type names. I actually end up basing a lot of my character's personality elements on the 'feel' I get from the name, so I consider name very important for a character. |
| kam_Islash11-21-04, 03:58 AM | Orc Barbarian: Yoog Ownadie. Yewg Onnadai Yuug Unnadie YOU GONNA DIE! /// |
| Konal11-21-04, 04:11 AM | whoa the name generator is awesome. i got awesome names like: Armeater and Ghoulpoker, then theres always Wraithjuggler and Fingersmasher, but the best name for a Barbarian is the last one on my list - Publicdrinker and right after i posted that I got Deathkiller, lol |
| Quenditar11-21-04, 04:23 AM | I had a pair of short-lived barbaric NPCs named Therek and Thugash. Then there was a much more memorable half-orc PC named Thugasha (the barbarian/bard ballerina). |
| strontium11-23-04, 01:35 AM | My 2 favorites also come from the 'starts with a G' category... Groo !!!! and Grunthoss !!!! |
| Vaelan11-23-04, 03:39 AM | Sir Richard Milner the Sixth? What's with these "I'm an axe-wielding moron!" Barbarians? :( |
| UndeadMouse11-23-04, 12:23 PM | Ogg. maybe BigMeanGuyWhoWouldTearYourArmOffForFun. maybe not Glugg. hmmm Medum. works for the class |
| eudas11-23-04, 12:40 PM | 1. turaj 2. kei 3. mahnaz 4. zeinali 5. jatoi 6. zorfass 7. vartan 8. telian 9. silminari 10. athanasios if some of those are ruthlessly pillaged from other sources, don't blame me, i just wrote them down because they sounded cool. eudas |
| kanaida12-03-04, 09:27 AM | O'Brien the Barbarian. (Somebody will get this, I'm sure) |
| eudas12-03-04, 10:13 AM | I forgot the best barbarian names: 1. Cohen the barbarian (Discworld) 2. Grignr (The Eye of Argon) http://www.bmsc.washington.edu/people/merritt/books/Eye_of_Argon.html eudas |
| nyysjan12-03-04, 10:21 AM | Jean-Pierre the Ignoble Pietre the Inefficient Bob the unamazing What... :P |
