ok, hers the deal I have a pretty powerful lvl8 druid and I am loving this guy.
But I know that D&D is a game about developing a character andthe thing is I dont really know what to do with him. In my group is a paladin, a ranger, a dwarven cleric, a dwarven battlerager, a hafling rouge, and a really stupid srocerer. So I have to questions how can I kill the sorcerer w/o getting caught and I would appreciate suggestions on what to do with my Druid...should I multiclass or not and if not waht can I do , and if so which prestige class? Any input by more expirenced adventurers than me would be greatly appreciated thnx

Druids are excellent classes by themselves, though i've heard the Moonspeaker from Races of Eberron make their summoning powers much better, and they don't lose much. Druids are really powerful if you just go druid 20, you don't need much else. I'm playing a druid, and I took three levels of Totemist from Magic of Incarnum so my melee capabilities are even more nutso then they are now, but really you don't need anything else to make a good druid.

Don't kill the sorcerer without an in-character reason. In fact, try to avoid killing party members, even if you do have a reason. It makes the game less fun for everybody, and the guy may take it personally. If you've got a really, really good in-character reason, maybe just rough him up or incapacitate him for a while, or humiliate him, but try to avoid killing him. Think about it: In real life, do you kill people that are helping you work toward a goal just because you don't like them?

If you're having trouble developing your character, i'd heavily suggest writing a short backstory if you haven't already. Figure out his motivations: Why is he adventuring? Are there any places he wants to go, people he wants to see, things he wants to try? Has anything traumatic happened in his past? Does he have any particular quirks, such as only wearing green on sundays, or something? Really just try to write down everything you can think of about his personality, appearance, and history, you shouldn't have much trouble RP'ing him afterwards.

Hope the advice helps, good luck.

When the sorc. is asleep, blast him with a maximized flame strike. That should kill him good either that or you could transform into the biggest, baddest damage dealer you can think of, and coup de grace him in his sleep. Either way works, but I like the max flame strike. I love flame strike.

I will tell you how to kill the sorcerer after you give a good reason why you want to kill the sorcerer.

I take it you're playing an evil druid to want to do that.

Unless you have a particular specialty (healing, blasting, shapechanging, summoning etc.) that you want to improve at the expense of variety, there's really no reason for a druid to bother with prestige classes.

Killing off party members is also a BAD idea. If it had to be done I'd give a note to the DM stating that I'm making a Contagion scroll and using it on the character in question a few days after the next time he might contract have contracted a disease (crawling through sewers, being bitten by were-rats, using a public bathroom etc). Of course, this is somewhat less lethal than some of the other methods suggested, but I like some elements of intrigue in my games. Or do the Baleful Polymorph thing suggested above then make him into a stew and feed him to your fellow adventurers so long as you make sure get rid of the bones, the chances of him coming back for revenge are slim at best (incorporeal undead).

Thanx for alllyour help and . What if the sorcerer likes to castfireball in the middle of melee while the rest of his party is trying to defend him? He is the reason that I know longer have a monk(

(Abesh was caught in the sorcers web that was useless against the assasins vine. He shouted for help but the group was leaving him in the room and heading for the door. He saw his friend Colberge moving his hands and saying phrases that he knew all to well as the fireball spell. He tried to ask what he had done but the sorcere didnt listen.....
the screams echoed off of the walls for 5 minutes and the smell of cooked flesh was heavy in the air.. the party left with the sorc bragging that he had killed the beast.) :weep:
You see what I mean? THis has happened to other party members also. This is his first time playind dnd and he needs to be a fighter. Our dm said he would give him a fighter if I could get rid of his sorc. I dont want to invoke the paladins wrath so please help.

Jon; don't kill the sorc. Either talk to him, In-Game or Out-of-Game, or do some damage to him without really killing him.

Don't kill him by targetting him. kill him by putting him in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Druid: "I will cut the rope that holds the bridge"
Sorc: "Bu-"
*rolls* "rope cut. the bridge collapses. take that, orcs!"
Sorc: "but i'm on the bridge!!"
Druid: "Oh? Well, oops. That wasn't very clever now, was it?"

Also, others are right. Druid? Don't PrC, really. You're just gimping yourself. You're incredibly awesome as it is. Don't go ruining it by mixing PrCs into it. Just enjoy your quickly growing powers, don't forget to laugh manically as you get some new powerful wildshape form.

Ok, unless the druid is possessed by the ghost of your former monk, he has no real reason to kill the sorcerer, unless you metagame. If the sorcerer really need to be teached something, talk to your DM and have the monk return as a ghost, blazing bones, or an inevitable...

About the the multiclassing, you could take a single level of barbarian (wildshaping into a bear is nasty, imagine wildshaping into a raging bear...), rogue (a tiger pouncing on a surprise foe for 5 sneak attacks in the surprise round...), ranger (track, +1 BAB, a few more skills, favored enemy: stupid sorcerer, anyone?) or monk (imagine a bear with Improved Grapple, and wisdom to AC?). Wildshaping get better as you take druid levels, so take only 1 level of another class...

Really unless you want to focus on one thing, spell casting, summoning, wild shaping, you should PrC. there are some presteige classes that are great for specific areas.. IE master of many forms if you want to go the wild shaper route, but you sacrifice your spell casting for it... really id suggest going straight druid so you can be more versitile. also i tihnk thre are feats that allow you to have different forms you can wildshape in.. IE abberations and what not, and i think it lets you have the extrodianary abilities of those forms.. though im not 100% sure.. you might want to take a look, it could help out your wild shapes if you really like those.

as far as killing him... really that character doesnt have a good reason, though he does need to be taught a lesson... if your given some in game reason to attack him (ie during battles hes fireballing everyone) then heal up, and in the middle of the night attack him and do non leathal dmg to him... knock him out.. when he wakes in the morning, suggest he stops it or next time hell be missing an arm or two instead of just havin bruises. other ideas could include getting a potable hole and knocking him in.. and closing it up.. only way to get out.. he has to promise to be nicer and stop the fireballing (make him invoke his gods name or something... that usually sorta prevents most from lieing when swearing.. you really dnt want to **** off the god you pray to) though the swearing is mostly up to DM as to specifics of it.. i remember some vows and what not in exhalted deeds i think...

i donno.. hope that helps some.. really try not to kill him, and if so give him a warning first.

Do what my Druid did to the uppity Pally: Keep putting snakes in his backpack - and then taunt him as he's begging for that Neut Poison :D

Go druid all the way to level 20, the druid handbook in my signature can be of help.

As to the sorcerer, just try to target your spells in such a way, that he get's caught in the edge of it, either entangle, flame strike, flaming sphere. Tell the player you are going to annoy him, because he annoyed you. Have your characters mad at each other, but try to do it in good fun.

Do not target him, but make sure you get in a lot of OOps moments.

But in the end, trying to kill his character, because he killed yours will only make players hate eachother, try being more mature as that. If you escalate the situation you'll regret it later on.

First thing: Don't kill the character. If you kill his character, he will search for an excuse with his next one to kill yours. Then you will... etc., ad infinitum.

Try to be mature about that one and talk to him out-of-game that you don't like it. Sit together with the rest of the group, see if they agree with you on that and them tell him that if he doesn't stop doing that, the group simply will leave him ingame, since he is placing them in unnecessary danger and even killed several group members.

Why the hell do people always think attacking and killing someone is the only way to settle stuff like that?

because killing stuff is fun and often the focus of campaigns so while it isnt the best choice it is rthe dirst to come to mind. Personally i'd talk to him about it but failing that I like the snakes in backpack idea :)

I only casted fireball once when other party members where in the range of the explosion, and that was when Abesh (Jon's Monk) was tangled in my web, I had presumed with his high reflex save, he could make it out of the room (we were in a full retreat, one dead party member, and the paladin in the beast's belly, I was going to use the web's as extra fire damage, when they burned, against the horrible plant that ate the paladin and warrior, heh.)
Sadly, however, he did not, I was faced with the Ranger to my right, and the two rogues telling me to launch a fireball at the beast to free the monk from the webs as the plant moved to him, which is what I did, he only took 15-20 damage or so, and did not die. He moved out of the room, while I sat in the doorway and launched 6 fireballs at it, doing well over 150 damage, and saving the paladins life (and keeping the warrior from being totally dissolved) It is true that I bragged about the kill, which I perhaps shouldnt of done... but oh well. And when he said he no longer has a monk because of me... that's because he attacked our dwarven battle-rager, and the group had to kill him because he wouldnt stop. I didnt even participate in the monk's slaughter... :D . If he wants to kill me, he can issue a challenge at any time, and I will respond... (just hope he doesnt kill me when im sleeping!) Also, if anyone would be willing to simulate the duel, I would be much obliged... I will give you my sorc's stats, im sure he would do the same with his druid's stats!

No, No, thats not jow it happened (i am the paladin in the group).

thats not even the incident it happened. nobody was tangled in webs in that battle. this was earlier, we we weren't in full retreat and two rouges were not telling you to blast em, you just think you hear things. anyways this sorcerer has made many mistakes, i personoly am willing now to set those aside and give him another chance. we have all talked to him and i believe he will start to think before he does stuff... i hope.
