| wytetyger12-17-04, 02:32 AM | :embarrass Hi, well im pretty much brand new to D&D and im going to be playing with some pros (who arent to helpful to new players). The DM is my best friend and she helped me alot, but she left the spell, skill, and feat up to me! And i really dont have a clue as to which ones i should choose... :( So i need help with that. I can put up my stats, and hopefully someone can help me..please *bigeyes*: str: 10+0 dex: 10+0 Con: 12+1 Int: 16+3 Wis: 18+4 Cha: 11+0 im a lvl 8 Elven Druid. I have 77 skill points, 3 feats, and i can use 6 lvl 0 spells, 5 lvl 1 spells, 4 lvl 2 spells, 4 lvl 3 spells, and 2 lvl 4 spells. And im 153 years old ( where were those high lvl rolls when i doing my stats ><). So any help would be super super super Super appreciated! Thank you. :) |

This allows you to cast while you're wildshaped, which is really, really good. Considering this, perhaps you want to reconcider being an Elf. That -Con hurts, While the Dex doesnt really matter anymore when you can wildshape. As for skills: I like taking Survival and Knowledge(Nature), theyre usefull and they fit the flavour for a Druid perfectly ofcourse. Other then that, just take what skills your character would want. And as for spells: Buff spells are allways good, and dont forget you can share all your spells with your animal companion. So feel free to Magic Fang yourself and your Companion when your wildshaped. Also, dont, EVER, prepare Summon spells, unless you for some reason wish to metamagic them. Druids can spontaniously substitute spells for Summons. Also, I love Flamestrike. I just do :D. Druids, when wildshaped and/or buffed, make great front-line combatants, but with that Con of yours, its gonna hurt. So you might want to think about a different race. Gnomes are great Druids IMO. At lower levels the Small Size can be quite usefull, while at higher levels your Wildshape will offset the penalty to strength and such. |
| wytetyger12-17-04, 02:51 AM | Well thank you very much :) But ive been looking through these posts and i see spells and such that my player handbook doesnt have like Natural spell and survival? And i was wondering about the whole spell thing, since my str is cruddy i wont be able to do much damage so i thought maybe my spells should make up for my lack of melee capabilities? So thats why i was having trouble figuring out which spells i should take? Like how to get a good combo of heal, buffs and damage, especially since i dont know what the other characters are...bleh this is very confusing. |

Though you dont gain extra Hp from the increased Con you get, which is why Con is so important. Also, Natural Spell is a Feat, and a musthave for mopst Druids (That is, one who uses his arguably most powerfull class feature, Wildshape, to full effect.) And Survival isnt a Spell, its a Skill. And a usefull one at that. With the allmighty survival you never have to get lost in the middle of nowhere again! |
