| yukisanada11-06-06, 01:19 PM | I need help in trying to build my character. I want him to be a Juggernaut type character that can just smash anything in his path and I am having difficulty. Here are some of his stats DEX 11 STR 100 CON 59 INT 11 WIS 11 CHA 22. My main problem is with skills armor and feats.Any help would be appreciated THANK YOU! |
| Trondant11-06-06, 01:43 PM | might I ask how you generated those stats? they are DEFINATLY not legal. |
| On_the_wings_of_TPK11-06-06, 01:46 PM | I'm calling joke thread here. Assuming it is real, how in the :censored: do you mean that you hare having trouble being a juggernuaght? You deal a minium of 45 points of damge, before any weapon is factored in, and you have +45 to hit, before base attack or feats. You also have 24 hit points/HD, before the actual roll is factored in. Who cares what your AC is, damge anit gonna matter. You can'tt be seriouse..this is just too unreal. |
| TwiddleStootch11-06-06, 01:50 PM | wow  +45 Str Mod. That'd be like, +67 Dmg with a two-handed weapon. before weapon enchantments... or better yet, take a level in Exotic Weapon Master and wield a bastard sword, +90 Dmg :D dang. |
| akiio11-06-06, 01:57 PM | Joke Thread. |
| yukisanada11-06-06, 02:18 PM | No what it is I need a very powerful character for an extremly high level campaign and his stats are about what an average player is in this game. |
| akiio11-06-06, 02:19 PM | ... just HOW high of a level are you talking? |
| yukisanada11-06-06, 02:27 PM | as in he is one of the weaker characters. |
| TwiddleStootch11-06-06, 02:28 PM | you wanna smash stuff? two words: Frenzied Berserker! the damage you could deal would be UNHOLY! |
| akiio11-06-06, 02:30 PM | let me rephrase this: what levelis this person? your dodginess isn't helping your credibility here. |
| yukisanada11-06-06, 02:35 PM | The other players are around Lv70 and I need some sort of a fighting chance to stay alive and yet be of some use to the party. |
| Licínio Miranda11-06-06, 02:36 PM | He´s lvl 5. |
| akiio11-06-06, 02:37 PM | go to the optimization boards. |
| unusualsuspect11-06-06, 02:42 PM | Initial Thoughts: I'd say, right out, that the Monk Class, while useful, waaay far and away (flavor-wise) from the Juggernaut. What would make sense, though? We'd want someone who can fist-fight without too much difficulty, someone who can pick up pretty much anything and beat the living shiznit out of whatever he attacks, someone who is surprisingly fast (enough to build good momentum), and someone, if we're going by Comic Book Lore, who gains a lot of his powers from a Mystical Gem in his possession. Let's see... I'm a big fan of Psionics, myself, and there are several pretty damn flavorful powers practically built for Juggernaut. Juggernaut, if i recall correctly, used Gauntlets... this allows his unarmed strikes to be magically enchanted. One should probably throw in Superior Unarmed Strike, to gain the exceptionally damaging unarmed strikes that Juggernaut prefers (like he needs more with the massive strength bonus, but hey). Given the wording for gauntlets, though the listed damage is 1d3, it is treated in all ways, i believe, as an unarmed strike... Juggernaut was all strength, little realistic combat prowess. I think it's safe to say that the Warhulk PrC from the Miniature's Handbook would fit him perfectly. One might want to put the Monster of Legend template on this guy, most specifically for the insane stat bonuses, a choice of immunity to mind-affecting spells and effects, and, say, fast healing 5. LA on that sucker is either 5 or 7, depending on how you interpret it, given the MM2 3.5 update manual. The Drunken Master PrC would be nice, if we decided to give him a monk level. That would give him somewhat optimal improvised weapon use, so he can grab any random Marble Support or, heheh, random armored enemy and swing it/him around with gusto. Titan Bloodline, with its RAW ability to wield a gargantuan weapon, combined with the Drunken Master PrC... could be very entertaining. Anything else? Hmmm... Permanant Enlarge (maybe that'd be the Gem of Cytterok' power... or whatever that gem is called) seems right. And it qualifies us for Warhulk. |
| On_the_wings_of_TPK11-06-06, 04:39 PM | Level 70 eh? Str 100, con 59? This aint real. With seventy levels, and scores that just aren't possible with out rolling d% to generate ability mods....you need help building, what exactly? The terminator? Chuck Noris? Honestly, at least try and make it believable |
| Sulaco11-06-06, 04:51 PM | go to the optimization boards. Won't work, that is still for D&D. This character, even at level 70, is definitely not legal under the D&D rules so I would recommend seeking out the forums for whatever system this PC is actually from. |
| Reversefigure411-06-06, 09:17 PM | The funny part is that this character still stinks, broken stats and all. With a Dex, Int, and Wis all at 11(!), a few basic Feeblemind-esqe spells would slaughter him. I'd hate to see what a level 70 caster would do. |
| Salla11-07-06, 03:04 AM | Could always go Warforged Juggernaut. ;) |
| Majick11-07-06, 11:10 AM | Ok... lemme see... Half-Ogre, max strength (+6) - 24 10 levels of WarHulk PrC (+20) - now 44 5 bonuses through progression (+5) - now 49 Magical Item (pre-epic, +6) - now 55 Half-Golem, Iron Golem Arm (+12) - now 67 Every other level in Barbarian - more strength (at least +4 when raging) So that technically 71 during a rage, and that is all achievable by level 20, and isn't hacked at all, just totally and completely tweaked beyond comprehension, but not hacked :D ...the constitution i can't explain however :P |
| concerro11-09-06, 04:22 PM | Ok... lemme see... Half-Ogre, max strength (+6) - 24 10 levels of WarHulk PrC (+20) - now 44 5 bonuses through progression (+5) - now 49 Magical Item (pre-epic, +6) - now 55 Half-Golem, Iron Golem Arm (+12) - now 67 Every other level in Barbarian - more strength (at least +4 when raging) So that technically 71 during a rage, and that is all achievable by level 20, and isn't hacked at all, just totally and completely tweaked beyond comprehension, but not hacked :D ...the constitution i can't explain however :P what book is the warhulk in? |
| Exquisite_Flopilidopilies11-09-06, 05:29 PM | I understand Mutants and Masterminds (http://www.mutantsandmasterminds.com/) is a d20-based superhero role-playing game (put out by Green Ronin). You should check it out, because I don't think D&D will scale the way you want it to. Indeed, M&M seems to be very different (no hit points, no damage rolls, no classes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutants_and_Masterminds)) and from what I hear M&M doesn't play that well with other d20 games. But if everyone in your group is trying to play superbeings, you should use a system that supports it. (D&D does, too, up to epic magic and divine ranks and so on, but in its own idiosyncratic way). |
| High Octane11-09-06, 07:06 PM | Could always go Warforged Juggernaut. ;) I LOVE the warforged Juggernaut. At epic levels they get like a +20 on str checks to bust through walls. So you have a living construct that busts through walls. Have him be red. "OH YEAH!" |
| Save-vs-DM11-10-06, 05:14 AM | I'm going to assume that you're serious, and that you're playing DnD. With such low mental scores, your only hope is getting a lot of immunities. However, I'm having a lot of trouble even wrapping my head around a level 70 character. This also isn't a Mutants and Masterminds character, as they don't use levels. Okay. I'd go with a Dwarf. Fighter 20/Barbarian 28/Frenzied Berserker 20/Deepwarden 2 Take the Steadfast Determination feat (player's handbook 2), that will let you use your Con bonus for will saves. Two levels of deepwarden will let you use your Constitution modifier instead of Dexterity for armor class - giving you a whopping 35 AC bucked naked - with a massive amount of hit points. It's about that simple. Wow, I think this broke my brain. I had a character with a 22 Strength once, I thought that was amazing...heck, I don't think most gods have a Strength score over 50... Crazy... Cheers, Save vs DM |
| CaoSlayer11-10-06, 09:02 AM | Take levels of raping mauler NOW! Also you should keep all the time an antimagic shield on you. |
| TheDragonmaster11-10-06, 10:42 AM | Speaking of Dieties, your character must get Thor's Belt. |
| xaoswolf11-10-06, 10:53 AM | No what it is I need a very powerful character for an extremly high level campaign and his stats are about what an average player is in this game. Doesn't matter how high you make him. Even a 1st level theif can <a href="http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-5825493270005637835&q=label:tomchums.blogspot.com">"backstab"</a> a 55th level paladin and have the magic user killed... |
| unusualsuspect11-10-06, 11:26 AM | Getting to 100 strength and 59 constitution over 70 levels? And y'all are calling it IMPOSSIBLE? With 70 bloody levels to use? The Hulking Hurler was in the low 90s as an ECL 20. Initial Thoughts: Goliath race, LA +1: +4 str. Half-Minotaur template, LA +1: +12 str (yay, broken template!) Monster of Legend, LA +5 or 7 (depends on interpretation): +12 str Barbarian 1: +4 str Warhulk 10: +20 str. Frenzied Berserker 2: +6 str so, ECL 20, we have...+58 strength? Assuming he puts an 18 into strength... that's 76 str. Before items. As a large creature. We now have 50 more levels to use. And you guys think 100 strength is impossible to get? Con, while perhaps not quite as easy, is certainly doable. When i get back from work, I'm 90% sure I can make an ECL 40ish build that means most requirements, if not all. |
| unusualsuspect11-10-06, 06:15 PM | So, as I promised... Monk 1 Natural Lycanthrope, Were-(Horrid, Magebred, Woodling)Direboar (taking the first two levels of the lycanthrope template, saving the 3rd level for later) Barbarian 2 Ranger 1 Horizon Walker 1 Frenzied Berserker 1 Fighter 4 Frenzied Berserker 2 Note: This is the level 20 cutoff. What's that? 16 bab? 4 attacks pre-epic? Continuing on... Warhulk 10 3rd level of lycanthrope Half-Ogre template (Dragon 313) Half-Minotaur template (Dragon 313) Feral template Monster of Legend template last level...? End result? +70 to str, +4 dex, +34 con, -6 int, Wis +6, Cha +2. When raging and frenzying? +10 str, +4 con, same stats otherwise. So, with starting scores (36 pt buy) of 18 str, 8 dex, 18 con, 12 int, 8 wis, and 8 cha, we end up, while raging and frenzying, as... 98 str, 12 dex, 52 con, 6 int, 14 wis, 10 cha. He also has available immunities up the ying-yang... potentially energy immunity for everything but sonic and either cold or fire (your choice). Not to mention a million other benefits, but hey, its a 40th level character. He also has 4 epic feats available (I didn't stat that out, no interest, really). Did I mention he can have +37 Natural Armor? Yeah. So... we have a guy who walks around with a strength of 88, a con of 52, +37 NA, and the ability to do an attack against EVERY square he can target with each and every attack in his attack progression. He's virtually immune to energy damage, has regeneration 1 (fire, acid) (and the ability to gain immunity to both energy types), Damage Reduction of several types, and a gaggle of other abilities I don't even have time to mention. Is that Juggernaut enough for you? |
| Save-vs-DM11-10-06, 07:38 PM | Good work, but I think those are the stats he rolled, evidentally with some very large dice. I don't think that's what he wants, but that's what he has to work with. Still, your char op fu is strong, as always. Save vs DM |
| kab11-10-06, 09:57 PM | pun-pun i mean, its only a lot more legal for starting stats |
| Jayr11-10-06, 10:57 PM | Nobody's going to comment on that "raping mauler" quote? Nobody? |
| johnkretzer11-11-06, 01:21 PM | First get a helmet with mind blank continously. Second get get the Epic PrC Legendary Dreadnought Third crack open the Epic Level Handbook and do your own research. |
| Licínio Miranda11-11-06, 02:09 PM | The guy that created this thread didn´t show himself anymore. Let´s forget this thread. |
| taradusis11-11-06, 02:43 PM | Perhaps some sort of earth elemental?A 70 hd earth elemental would be a mountain and still able to move underground with his earth move ability?Check out the earth elementel from savage species and just keep on extrapolating? |
| Fatalis_90211-12-06, 07:44 AM | I'm sorry, but there is no way that this can be real. I'm going over several options, but none of them can deliver those kinds of stats without class levels. This is a joke thread, unless the OP comes back and explains exactly how he got those stats, which is somewhere in the range of several hundred to several thousand point buy. |
| Necropolitan11-12-06, 06:52 PM | Take levels of raping mauler NOW! Also you should keep all the time an antimagic shield on you. Holy CRAP. RAPING MAULER. RUN FOR THE FRIGGIN' HILLS. |
| unusualsuspect11-12-06, 07:00 PM | I'm sorry, but there is no way that this can be real. I'm going over several options, but none of them can deliver those kinds of stats without class levels. This is a joke thread, unless the OP comes back and explains exactly how he got those stats, which is somewhere in the range of several hundred to several thousand point buy. I take it you didn't approve of my ECL 40 build that nearly matched the stats he claimed? I take it you don't believe that over 30 levels worth of epic feats (40, really, since i didn't use those in my build) he couldn't make up for whatever I happened to not quite match his stated stats? He has ECL 70 to work with. ECL 70. The CO boards (if they put their mind to it) can get stats and abilities that SURPASS the OP's stated stats, with ECL 20. See the 10^100 competition in the CO boards, and you'll see what I mean. |
| unusualsuspect11-12-06, 07:01 PM | Holy CRAP. RAPING MAULER. RUN FOR THE FRIGGIN' HILLS. That's almost as bad as Evan's Spiked Tentacles of Forced Intrusion. Almost. |
| CaoSlayer11-13-06, 11:42 AM | Nothing as bad as the Bear Warrior / Raping Mauler build. |
| unusualsuspect11-13-06, 02:41 PM | Nothing as bad as the Bear Warrior / Raping Mauler build. Anthropomorphic Giant Octopus Warhulk Raping Mauler. Stronger, and covers just about every major orifice and a few minor ones. Done and done. |
| yukisanada11-20-06, 02:10 PM | I thank you guys for your input, but I found a roleplaying game that had a juggernaut build converted to d20. With help of the DM I was able to convert everything over. After play started it became apparent that my character wasn't so weak after all since the enemies we encountered had magic immunity. The funny part is most of the party only uses magic to attack. As it turned out I was the only one to survive and the other party members had to fall back on other characters they had. Thank you everyone! |
| FeceMan11-20-06, 02:17 PM | Take levels of raping mauler NOW! Also you should keep all the time an antimagic shield on you. Best. Class. Ever. Also, language barrier, methinks. |
| Juzzman11-20-06, 09:01 PM | So, as I promised... 3rd level of lycanthrope Half-Ogre template (Dragon 313) Half-Minotaur template (Dragon 313) Feral template Monster of Legend template Hi, quickie for you, can you have multiple templates on the one character? [Player] Hello, my name is george. i'm a human were-rabbit half ogre half minotaur half feral monster of legend  [NPC] . :thinks: . :lightbulb . :OMG! . :surrender |
| unusualsuspect11-21-06, 12:40 AM | If you take the templates in the right order, yes, you can have all those templates on the same character. It might be difficult to conceptualize, but it can work according to the rules. |
| Baron Rod11-21-06, 01:03 AM | Initial Thoughts: Goliath race, LA +1: +4 str. And don't forget the Savage Species Handbook. Two spells that can be made Permanent. Girellon's Blessings with a Fuze Arms spell will add +16 str to that total. Baron Rod |
| green_yawgmoth11-21-06, 10:37 AM | I LOVE the warforged Juggernaut. At epic levels they get like a +20 on str checks to bust through walls. So you have a living construct that busts through walls. | starfire31111-21-06, 12:19 PM | Take levels of raping mauler NOW! This scares me quite a bit... with that strength there woud be no stopping him |
