I need help with AC [Archive] - Wizards Community

I can't figure out how to calculat AC in 3.5 and just about anything relating to it (how you hit etc...). Could someone please help me out?

Well, go read the Players Hand Book, and then come back here.
But for now:

You start with Armor Class 10 (AC 10)
Add you Dexterity modifier, +2 (now AC 12)
Add you Armor Bonus, eg +4 for chain shirt (now AC 16)
Add your sheild modifier, eg +1 for a small sheild (now AC 17)

To hit an AC of, say, 14:
Roll a d20 (twenty sided dice)
Add your Strength modifier (eg +1 for Str 12)
Add you Base Attack Bonus (BAB, say +1 for a fighter)
So, to hit an AC of 14 with a +2 on your roll, you need a roll of 12.
