toranaga181 01-30-08, 08:57 PM	so if i have a char with 4 arms (Obah Blessed...i think i spelled Obah right...), and i take multidex. i will have 4 attacks with no penalties, so when my BAB gets high enough, and i get an extra 3 attacks, is it just the 3? or would i get more because of the additional arms???

Well, Multidexterity is 3.0, so it doesn't really apply now. Assuming you're using 3.0, though, you'd also need Multiweapon fighting for the secondary attacks, and you'd get your 4 iteratives plus 1 for each extra arm.

Any book published before the publication date of the 3.5 core books is a 3.0 book, although those published in 2003 do have some degree of compatibility with 3.5. Fiend Folio, for example, uses 3.5 rules for statting monsters. MM2 most certainly does not.

There is no Multidex feat in 3.5 If your DM allows you can probably use Multidex from 3.0, but technically it's not a legal feat without permission.
Zog_Jakome 02-01-08, 01:49 AM	multi-dexterity does not exist anymore, just like ambidexterity. according to the descriptions of multiweapon fighting and two weapon fighting this is how I believe it works. You have 1 primary hand, the rest of the "hands" you have are off-hands whether you have 2 hands or 10 hands it doesn't matter. multiweapon fighting grants you the same benefit two weapon fighting does. your primary hand penalty reduces by 2, while the penalty of your off hands reduces by 6. if you carry a light weapon in any hand the penalty FOR THAT HAND reduces by 2, you must wield a light weapon in all of your off-hands to reduce the primary hand by 2. you can get two weapon fighting but being a DM I would not allow the penalties to be reduced any further. "But Zog, what's the point of getting two weapon fighting?" well I'm glad you asked, the benefit of gaining two weapon fighting is to qualify for improved two weapon fighting, and greater two weapon fighting, and, when you reach epic level, perfect two weapon fighting. the benefits of these feats outweigh the fact that you need to burn a feat to get them. You would get an extra attack with each of your off-hand weapons at a -5 penalty with each of the hands as usual. so to better explain myself I will give you a chart similar to what is in the player's handbook. some details in the chart I have not explained but it makes sense to me. Circumstances.............primary......o ff-hand 1.......off-hand 2.......off-hand 3 Normal penalties............-6……….....…-10…….....……..-10…………........-10 Light weapons………........-4……….....…-8……......………-8………….......……-8 Two weapon fight…….....-4…….....……-4……......………-10……….....……..-10 Multiweapon fight….....….-4……....……-4……….......……-4……….........……-4 TWF and light……….......…-2…....………-2……….......……-8………….......……-8 MWF and light………........-2……......……-2………......……-2……….......….….-2 Now a BAB of +6 grants you 2 attacks with the primary hand while still only getting 3 attacks with the off-hands. If you take Improved two weapon fighting you get 2 attacks with the primary hands and a total of six attacks with the off-hands. If you make it to epic level and take perfect two-weapon fighting you get 4 attacks with the primary hand and 4 attacks with each off-hand meaning that you get 16 attacks per round. I know some of you are going to be :mymy: but look at improved two weapon fighting. “in addition to the standard single extra attack you get with an off-hand weapon, you get a second attack with it, albeit at a -5 penalty”. It doesn’t specify that it only applies to one off-hand weapon.
toranaga181 02-01-08, 03:09 AM	apparently multiattack is the new multidex, just with a -2 on other hands... bleh SOOOO if i was just using my fists to beat the crap out of things and with 4 arms, + multiattack, would it just be the the + 3 attacks (when i reach the spec. BAB)? or would it add anymore attacks because of the 4 arms?
Zog_Jakome 02-01-08, 03:45 AM	whether you use your fists or weapons does not matter you only get one attack with each of your off-hands unless you have improved two weapon fighting, and others. so the answer to your question would be you only get 3 more attacks plus you BAB iterative attacks. here is another chart you don't need two weapon fighting or multiweapon fighting to attack with multiple weapons(or your fists), but it helps tremendously. you do however need improved two weapon fighting or greater two weapon fighting to get more attacks with each off-hand, without it you only get 1. BAB........ # of attacks(2 arms)......# of attacks(4 arms) +1................2..................... ...............4 +6................3..................... ...............5 +11..............4...................... ..............6 +16 or higher.5................................ ....7 simply taking improved two weapon fighting adds 3 attacks one for each off hand.
