| fullmetal8011003-03-07, 12:53 PM | I was going to see what everybody's favorite characters were. If you had multiples that you really enjoyed just post them up too. I don't know if a thread like this has been done (I'm sure it has), but I haven't seen it. Just throw the name and whatever they were and the description of why they were fun. 1.Haladir (Chaotic Neutral Warlock) A total bastard that is actually managing to travel with a good aligned party. He was such a bastard at one point (Leaving one of the other mages to fight a tank isn't that bad?) that some cleric's put a paladin soul in him to try and keep him in check. The fun part is I've got a better will save :D So i can usually get away with murder. 2.Boo (Moogle Riflemen) I had Boo in an iron kingdoms game and went full on into riflemen. Well we had a party member who learned how to make rifles that had a 6 shot clip so I could do the sniping ability (Can crit on a 2, don't roll to confirm it just happens, and x6 multiplier) 5 or 6 times in a turn. |
| Grognor03-03-07, 01:10 PM | 3. Gewdy McRowler A mute bard whose only aspiration was to regain his voice. Unfortunately, he was paired with a gnomish cleric of something or other who couldn't turn undead. He communicated via pantomime and a chalkboard, and was a total blast to RP. He, unfortunately, got eated by skeletons. |
| Scortius03-04-07, 12:19 AM | 4. Godric I've only actually played him in 1 mission, but he seems really cool. A rogue1/fighter 2 (with an awesome fighter fix) who maxed ranks in Knowledge (Arch/Eng) and Craft to create his own guns and gunpowder using the reneissance (I know that's not how its spelled) rules from the DMG. Basically blowing everything up whenever possible - including using homemade gunpowder to light his pipe. |
| cog_n_taz03-04-07, 12:36 AM | skraal (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthrea...703747&page=32) here too (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=767201) not too good in the first thread, atleast at first, but he gets better. Gone for a long time in the first time too. I quite like him in the second thread:) Anyway, please read if you have the time, and tell me what you think. And yes, he is diceless-only, as I rather not limit him. |
| Drodain03-04-07, 12:49 AM | 6. Lepro "Mom" NG Cleric of Pelor 5 He was a really cool character to roleplay. He was a pretty sadistic guy at times. He also died at the hands of C'thulu and was resurrected with an evil mark. He kept trying to hide it. It was just a really fun roleplaying experience. Best campaign I've ever played by far. |
| Man in the Funny Hat03-04-07, 07:34 PM | From 1st Edition: Bannor "Face Dancer" Addidas. Human monk. Not at all powerful compared to the HEAVILY favored Dwarven-Thrower tanks that were the rage in the group but had enough special abilities that other characters couldn't touch to make him a fun character to play. Earned the distinction of being the first PC anyone in the group had EVER known to die, and then request to be left dead rather than returned to life with massive debt to pay for the necessary magics to bring him back. Lived quietly in a small, modest house when not adventuring. Tried, but could never save money to build a monastery of his own to train a corps of followers, because of too-frequent deaths on adventures. Known for his proud ownership of a weapon called a "Scarlet Angel Express". Essentially an automatic, repeating heavy crossbow with 10-bolt clips that could be fired all in a single round. Went well with the 1/2 pt per level damage bonus for 1st Edition monks using weapons. Less effective against those plate-armored dwarves but wizards were PINCUSHIONS! From 2nd Edition: Dycron. Human fighter with Swashbuckler kit. ENORMOUS fun to play. Fearless to the point of foolishness. Had a pair of Boots of Striding/Springing and would leap behind the front lines, get mobbed and knocked below zero and then drug unconscious from the field after the rest of the party fetched him. That was his favorite tactic. Had a rapier with the blood of a god on it from the one lucky hit he'd managed. Also had hand-shaped burn scars on his neck from where the same deity choked him to death with his bare, flame-covered hands. Had an incredible fear of statuary, because they ALWAYS seemed to come to life and attack HIM out of everyone. Became incredibly wealthy. Used arquebus' for a missile weapon, not because they were in any way really effective but because of the amazing flash, smoke and noise. Kept FOUR loaded guns in a Hewards Haversack to avoid the reload time. From 3rd Edition: Baron Fyzo, a.k.a. "The Duck". Halfling rogue. Another swashbuckling type of character with far more chutzpah than wisdom. First introduced himself as a Baron (which he was)whereupon the party Big Dumb Fighter started teasing him as a Duke - far in excess of his actual noble station. He tried to repeatedly correct him, not wanting to claim status to which he was not entitled, but it soon became "The Duck" rather than Duke. Was teased mercilessly by this same fighter until circumstances put them together in a pit, hopelessly seperated from the other PC's and SWARMED by poisonous spiders. Together they put up an AMAZING defense and Fyzo nearly died from the poison. That fight, however, earned the respect of the fighter and they became nearly inseperable. Had a tendency to want to scout dungeons too far ahead of the rest of the party. |
| mcnoo03-04-07, 08:52 PM | Yeknom (Drow rogue) Master of disguise and theif extraordinaire. Perpetually in trouble with assorted governments, deities and just about anyone else who was in charge, purely for his unstoppable urge to cause mischief. Sometimes for profit, sometimes for practice, but mostly just because he could. Evil in the sense that he was generally self centered, greedy and untrustworthy, but not a nasty person by a long shot. Played from 4th to 26th level, killed a few gods, almost accidentally destroyed the fabric of reality once or thrice, eventually became king through sheer sly cheekiness. |
| snakeman83003-04-07, 09:06 PM | Glorgin Cevex Orina: Gnome Spellstitched Demilich Wizard 21 This guy always has some trick up his sleeve that people just don't expect. He worships Wee Jas, but interprets her following as blending magic and death. (hence, he specilized in necromancy). Before becoming a demilich, he used a +5 Desert Eagle, a weapon that his enemies had never seen before and therefore didn't know what to think about it. When in dungeons, he likes to place a portable hole on the ground, an immoveable rod at ankle-hieght, and taunts whatever he doesn't like. If they chase him, they trip and fall into the hole which he quickly folds up. In the last session he located the Tarrasque on it's rampage. The party was hiding and discussing strategy. Glorgin: I bet I can make it do something really stupid. Steel(Karsite Monk): It's already stupid, not much you can do to surprise me. Glorgin: I bet you I can make it pick its nose, without using magic. Madril(human fighter): You're on. So, Glorgin flies into the Tarrasque's right nostril (remember, Demilichs have fly 180 feet (perfect)) and uses his touch attack. This angered it and it tried to attack him while he was in it's nostril, naturally using a claw. Party::OMG! |
| Marendithas_the_Necro03-04-07, 09:43 PM | 12.Marendithas Silkus Human Necropolitan LE Necromancer 3 Cleric of Incabulos 3 True Necromancer 14 Mystic Theurge 10 DM/PC Played from the 8th to 20th I upgraded him to lvl 30 for making him a tyrannical lord of a highly, militaristic kingdom. He managed to be the servitor of a great red wyrm and after that the war that managed the dragon fail, he and one of his friend managed to kill that great wyrm. |
| SokenzanMarauder03-04-07, 09:59 PM | 13. Faust A Dread Necromancer/Fighter with a list of people and things he was going to come back and kill once he 'got it big.' Best role-playing I've ever done, lord I miss playing him. -Gene |
| NecroticBanana03-04-07, 11:46 PM | One of my first characters from 2nd ed. was "Caballo", a centaur fighter, tho you'd think he was a rogue from the way him and his saytr sidekick got into trouble no matter what they did. and my current character "Zook Bandersnatch", a gnome wizard going for the incantatrix/archmage build...outta be interesting when the worlds most powerful wizard stands only 3'6 lol |
| ewancummins03-05-07, 12:09 AM | Favorite character? Probably my most recent character , Jamethon Moorkroft. I played him in a really fun Ravenloft campaign online. He is a cleric of Ezra [ a guardian deity who protects humainty against the Legions of the Night]. He fights with a rapier and black powder guns. He is a visionary and fanatic, who was crazy for awhile [he's feeling much better now]. He accomplished big things, and I look forward to playing him in the next campaign with the same DM. |
| BowenSilverclaw198603-05-07, 10:08 AM | My favorite has got to be Bowen Silverclaw, my human natural werebear barbarian/fighter/exotic weapon master/warshaper/swordsage/warblade (yes, he has many classes, but no XP penalty :D ). Basically a nice guy, but you have to be a friend to know that. To the outside world he's just a rough 'n tough (and sometimes quite rude) oversized furball. After having experienced some of the atrocities of war while fighting alongside his old dwarven friends from the kingdom in which he had undergone rigorous training in his youth, basically extended family to him, he was even tougher on the outside. Unfortunately, after he rejoined the party after a short absence (in which these battles took place) I never really got the chance for really roleplaying this change in personality because the DM decided to kill this character because he didn't like it's effectiveness in combat. However, the party did notice something different about him even though he didn't talk about the period he spent with the dwarves. This was especially obvious when the party was doublecrossed by a king who wanted to execute the party. My werebear managed to break free from his restraints and kill the king, whilst in the past he would have tried to solve things through diplomacy first. I do have a nice quote from that gaming session that I would like to share with you though. After breaking free from his restraints and before attacking the king, he first took out the captain of the guard by biting of his head, on which our sorceress ,who my werebear also considered a good friend, replied: "Breath mint, Bowen?" I couldn't end this post without mentioning that :D . Greetings, Bowen Silverclaw. |
| fiendish_platypus03-05-07, 08:51 PM | I think its at 20. 20. Spot, awakened mastadon wilder 1/elocater10 Spot was great, I debated making Spot II- Fluffy, but I didn't. One of my favorite tactics was to use that elocater ability, "scorn earth" to levitate up and then drop on something, it was quite fun, also, he could sneak up on people when normal mastadons couldn't. Scorn earth= no move silently check, although hide was more what I was worried about, all in all, he was probably my favorite. The DM told me I got a free psicrystal, it gave me benifits but the DM roleplayed it, it was nasty and backtalked and stuff. Turned out to be a daelky trapped in a khyber shard :D . 21. Tempest, warforged artificer 10/warforged juggernaut 5/spellcarved soldier 5 The only reason I liked Tempest was because he owned a shop called "Pimp My 'forged", it was great. |
| doink121203-06-07, 02:16 PM | 22. Calexir Fighter/Warlock w/ a spiked chain, hideous blow and combat reflexes. Worst stats Ive ever rolled but he killed everything. Not too mention great diplomacy checks. |
| Daydreamer03-06-07, 04:20 PM | I apologize for the length, only way to explain why i like them. 3 years ago i played the following for a year. name:Bertrand russell- Human fighter. He was stereotypical but done well. (greyhawk) A patriotic farm boy who ran away from his abusive father to join the army at 16 to participate in defense against raids along the border. The horrors he would witness in war turned him cynical, a cynism which was battled by a local priest (one of my fellow npcs), and eventually result in a campaign to undercover the real motives behind the border dispute and put to rest the futile struggle. And so he abandoned his political motives for the one's of a hero. Eventually my character would keep moving up in ambitions and acomplishments, i played him to 12th level. What made him really facisnating was that at first level his highest stat was 14, and he had 2 stats below 10. Its hard to explain what made him so good, it just worked out that way, but the really interesting dynamic between him and the other pcs just made the game so fundamentally fun. Particularly his philosophical conversion into accepting being a hero at the hands of the priest. This one was also special 2 me-and is my current pc Name" 'Derrida Liadon' (eberron) Lg valenar elf paladin. Valenar society is built in a militaristic fashion and often conducts raids on foreign society. During his youth to prepare him for this almost spartan lifestyle of war Derrida was taken on a raid with other youths of a similar age. Not to fight but to witness and get used to bloodshed and killing. The raid took place on a small village in Q barra. Rather unfortunately for the elves two high level paladins-one a master the other a squire were in the area. The primary paladin who had silver hair from being an old man entered the fray to defend the villagers from the elves. Despite the fact that he was greatly outnumbered he fought with so much courage it inspired the villagers to greater heights. Eventually though the numbers would prove to be too much and wounded and bloody the paladin would fall, dozens of arrows protuding out his chest, not before he slew a great many of the elves however. What fascinated my pc was that any elf who turned and ran from him was let go, he would only move to protect the villagers. Eventually the elves were routed and me and the other youths trapped. Expecting to be lynched the old paladin stood onto his knees and begged for us to be sparred, and made his disciple promise to this effect saying there was nO honour in fighting unarmed youths. The old paladins funeral was interesting they burnt his body and his disicple threw a powder in the fire to make it burn silver and i remember watching the silver light reflect of his disciplines tear filled eyes. So it was my pc learnt his first human word-honour. The discipline's name was Bally Shannon, and he escorted us back to our homeland-but at the border i turned around to find him with his eye on me. I asked to follow him, my character knew the life of a mercancy but never had witnessed courage mixed with compassion. Right now im 5th level, i have long died silver hair and a huge flame tatoo on my back-and one around my right eye. My character hates the political ambitions of his religion and ironically seeks to purify the church of the silver flame itself rather than the rest of the world. He never forgets that compassion requires, and does not deny, courage. I guess we play a more character driven game, but he fits in great with the group |
| tiraelion03-06-07, 09:00 PM | Pyro the Piromancer Pyro was born to avenge "IanAnderson" the bard who died eaten by araneas. He is pretty cool to roleplay especiallly in battles where his psycological weakness comes into play. He can burn down anything and having "Spelltouched (inmolation)" he is little afraid of throwing fireballs right into the middle of the battlegorund. He also has a great background wich includes killing an army of a million soldiers and fighting the avatar of bahamud using a shapshifter as a sword under the mind controll of the red head of Tiamat. |
| Jo_Pistachio03-06-07, 11:16 PM | Ugh, so many favourites. 25? First off is Jo Pistachio, charming*2/fast*2/Techno mage*2/psion, a character who was made mostly at random for an eva campaign. I made him a scientist with a few feats making him as charming as James Bond. Then I randomly rolled his age and hit a 14. That was fairly funny. We determined that when Cthulu showed up, I would be the first to be eaten, since I was an investigator, a mad scientist, a psion, a wizard (when magic was banned) and connected permanently to the internet. Unrelated, but also interesting about him is that he favoured building things that could kill everyone on the planet, but his official job was as the "Inspector of safety in science and technology for Canada." All of his reports back to Canada were meticulously written, then blackened in with a sharpy. The only part still readable was the part at the bottom that said "The preceding information is classified. Sincerely, Jo." Like Asuka, (who also beat the tar out of Jo,) Jo is currently enrolled in Shinji Ikari's class, and is one of his buddies. His best accomplishment was destroying the universe as a fast action, and getting killed by the same girl 7 times, for the same reason every time. The fun part was that the girl that killed him destroyed all of Germany with an uber attack, but I passed the reflex save and had evasion. He also was the sole survivor of instrumentality, whereby he very nearly was strangled to death by the girl that kept killing him. He also had a vacuum sealed, magnetically contained lava lamp that was filled with grey goo. I think he threw it at someone, but I forget who. He also managed to make it with a goddess. Was not really like he had a choice in that matter though. It was either seduce the goddess and hope to another goddess that she did not kill me after, or fight legions of skeletons and ubermensch. Jo was true neutral until he was tricked into signing his soul over to pure evil, whereby his soul became chaotic evil, until later, when he was partially blessed by a goddess. His most recent alignment is Chaotic/lawful/neutral/good/evil/neutral, and he detects as such. When he gets wings from magic, one is as a demon, the other is as an angel, and people are never quiet sure how to handle that. 26? Next is Lorne, a true high elf. Rogue 3/swashbuckler 3/merchant 7. Just a hilareous character in the context of the disfunctional group I'm in. Due to certain bonuses and such, I ended up with a 33 appearance score, and as such other party members tend to make comments. One of the teammates wound up with schizotypal, which means he takes minor glances and gestures to mean big things. That's going to be very, very awkward this Friday. Her best accomplishments include living longer than the other characters, having a ton of money at all times, and becoming, officially and for a 6 month period of time, a guard in the prison that she was supposed to be in. Also proud of having gone to a tyranically lawful good city, whereby she did everything that should have been illegal, but was not according to the law. They had to write whole chapters in that dedicated to me, " There is to be no spear fishing in the public fountain when there are no fish, even when this causes no inconvenience to others." She's also an excellent trap finder, with mastercrafted tools, an excellent search check and so forth, but she has yet to pass a trap succesfully, almost always due to critical failing in a campaign that a 1 bears a penalty. Speaking of critical failures, she often crit ones, and has to roll on the hackmaster crit fumble check. So far, all that she has done is cut off parts of her own clothes. Which is both legitimate, and makes things highly awkward. Lorne is chaotic neutral, but is pretending to be lawful stupid. This is why she got away with not having her papers for her guard position on account of her "having turned in my papers to Shredder. That's the director right?" and passing the bluff check. |
| docballen03-07-07, 03:20 AM | My favorite character is the one I'm named after, Doc B Allen. She's a GURPS character who is the CEO/CMO of the Terre Haute Medicine Show, a clinic where strange things happen. She has "cured" cancer and invented a drug that gives psionic powers. There are evil forces at work in this game world, however... Another character I really really like is Travis Reed. I've been playing him in both Star Trek the RPG AND D&D. In Star Trek he's a red shirt-- who somehow has made it to admiral. In D&D he is a fighter. He loves weapons, and I'm working on getting him weapon focus and weapon specialization on his five primary weapons. (He'll specialize in bastard sword first...) If Travis Reed was a real person, I'd marry him. But then, there'd be that fight over the guns he'd want to keep in my house... :duel: |
| Rillek_Denar03-07-07, 03:24 AM | Grug: Half-Giant Fighter, using the feat Hidden Talent in order to gain Expansion. First round of combat, he'd suddenly become a Large creature, wielding a Flaming Vicious Greatsword sized for a Huge creature (at no penalty). Best 7d6 I ever rolled... |
| Chrono Nexus03-07-07, 10:39 AM | Thanan Galanodel: A half-elf ranger, he was a mix of explorer, trader, and smuggler. During his adventures, he acquired a hot air balloon, and combining it with his knowledge of trade routes, weather, and survival, he became a successful trader in high-end quality goods of limited access. He usually made trips over the mountain passes and through uncharted territory, mapping the land and buying and selling rare bulk. He was also my first character:D |
| Solian03-07-07, 02:05 PM | Kraik Lockheart would have to be my favorite, and the character i'm currently still playing Kraik Lockheart CG Half-elf Wizard 5/Rogue 3 He likes to cause trouble, but can usually get himself out of the trouble with a quick spell or quick wits. He's searching for His love Dawn, who was captured by an evil wizard (the whole reason why he became a wizard in the first place, to be able to fight him properly). His best friend, Medivh (Kenku Rogue 5/Assassin 3), is also the person he trained with under a master theif (another PC) and he is the only one who really knows WHY Kraik is battling. It's fantastic roleplayign him, because he's an extremely passionate kinda guy, letting his emotions get the better of him usually. |

| navar10003-18-07, 06:56 PM | 2E Players' Options game Gilbert Sullivan - Paladin He had 12 ST 10 DX 10 CO 12 IN 14 WI 18 CH. I was rolling really crappy, 4d6 drop lowest. The DM was going to allow me to reroll, but I had to finish. On the last roll I got an 18, nullifying the "need" to reroll. The only time I never wanted to roll an 18:P . Anyway, I had to make do with what I got. Putting the 18 in Charisma, I milked it for all its worth. The word to describe Gilbert is wholesome. He didn't know he was a "paladin". He did what was right becuase it was just natural to do so. His paladinesque abilities were natural things as well. Instead of Detect Evil, he got goosebumps. Instead of Lay On Hands, he kissed booboos because that's what his mother did whe he scraped his knee as a child. I named him Gilbert after the character from "Anne of Green Gables". Another player gave him the name Sullivan. He played my character's sister, a cleric. My character had the Voice trait to nurture further the fact of his 18 Charisma. He likes to sing, which is where "Sullivan" comes in. I wrote songs about everyone in the party. |
| TimelordSimone03-18-07, 07:21 PM | Paul 'Oneiroi' (Welsh) My first character. And my favourite. He is a chaotic neutral human bard. He left home (as he had no interest in inheriting the family boat repair business) with a travelling half elf called Finrod Oneiroi, who died. (Paul always used Oneiroi as his surname, never Welsh). This is the point where the campaign starts and he meets everyone else. He fancied the pants off the Paladin, did not get on with the stuck up noble girl, and thought the cleric was a jerk. He pretty much travelled with them because they helped him stay out of trouble. (Everyone trusts a Paladin's mate). He was a theif basically. Blonde hair, Blue eyes, short. Intelligence 9... He was great fun. Also... Galatia del Siverhyl lawful neutral human sorcerer and a stuck up noble girl. She was recently killed by her fiancee, who was apparently a vampire (the campaign started with the group members being ressurected by some people, and we don't really know why they chose us yet). She is immensly stuck up. And basically thinks that people whose viewpoint differs from hers are wrong. Great fun to roleplay. She did respect the paladin, until he kicked in a door and shouted "come fight me demons!". Her opinion has gone down since then. One rogue she dislikes as he is a common theif, the other just begun an atonement, and she has more respect for him now. The fighter is a true gentleman, letting her ride his horse while he leads it etc, and so she likes him (the self centered cow). The ranger is the only other girl, but they are from entirely different worlds, and she doesn't really get on with her yet... She mostly uses transmuations, with a hint of necromancy, No real big flashy stuff. Support mostly. Bull's Strength here, Ray of Enfeeblement there. The rest of the party love her for it! There we go. My favourites are my first and current. Awesome people. |
| fiendish_platypus03-18-07, 08:01 PM | Another one of my favorites is "Super Bard" never used him yet but I'm almost done his character sheet (just finishing up his feats) "Super Bard" (name unknown) has a dual personality, the first is an Elan-ish personality (from OoTS) who chooses utterly useless spells, the second is a super spellcaster that has to find witty ways to use these spells in combat and is a very serious super caster. Anyway "Super Bard" is (not sure what level yet, but I have him planned to twenty) going to be a Bard 5/ Lyrist Thaumaturge 5/ Sublime Chord 10. |
| MasonMurdoc03-18-07, 08:11 PM | Sir Malachi Lionheart Paladin My first and favourite character. When I played him the first time, he was a bit of a pompus. Second time round the guy playing the Rogue tricked our not to bright DM into letting me be a Half-Celestial. I decided to have him fly off because our DM was making challenges that were two powerful. Now, I'm playing him less pompus. He's the guy who yelled "Come fight me Demons". In my defense it was because he needed to lead Demons down to them so they didn't get ambushed. He rides a Gryffin(Needs a name) James Another Paladin I didn't get to play him much unfortunatly. He was a Paladin with a dark personality. He weilded The Exordius, from Weapons of Legacy. He may end up having a split personality. The other being a Blackguard I'm still in the middle of creating both there stories, so there isn't much detail. I'm sure both have been done by millions though :D |
| Sorcen_Anenooata03-18-07, 09:50 PM | Character Listing (http://boards1.wizards.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=11816261)of my many characters I have in my arena. For a listing of alot of my characters but here are my favorites: My favorite old character, 2nd edition- Drake- elf, rogue/assassin, he was just an embodiment of me and was awesome to play, I think his alignment was nuetral and it was just fine assassinating people in their sleep. He was my first character so that may be another reason I had so much fun playing him. I still remember my first kill, he was a fat merchant elf and Drake snuck into his house and held a pillow over his face and slashed his throat. Then next came Sorcen Anenooata who still remains my favorite, umm not exactly any edition- Sorcen Anenooata-... Well your better off just checking the character list link at the top of the page, theres alot of info on him. Favorite new character, again not any addition- Katarez- tiefling minotaur, warlock/bounty hunter/(and a captain of a mercenary airship fleet). He speaks with a Sigilian accent and is just fun to play. Anyway heres (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=11757054&postcount=214) a good description of him. Sorry fullmetal80110 but it seems we have all lost count here. |
| Pangeon03-18-07, 10:35 PM | My all time favorite character- Kniv: N Whisper Gnome Rogue 6 / Swashbuckler 1 / Shadowdancer 2 Had a really low charisma, but ended up being the party leader because she was the only one with an Int above 10 (16). She was the ultimate sneaky type, and truly an opportunist at heart. She was always in the right place at the right time, which landed her with some phat lewt on more than one occasion. Had a love/hate relationship with paladins, namely Dorran, the group's face, a paladin of Heironious who had an Int of 4. Ended up stealing and weilding an artifact of Chaos, the Fool of Bones, a quasi-intelligent sword tied to shadows whose sole purporse was to spread anarchy and kill kings. (She accidentally killed an ex-god with it, once.) |
| Gdek03-19-07, 12:24 AM | 42 (I think?) Barak Kando - Human fighter/swiss army knife. Leveled him from 1st to 20th (in 1E AD&D back in the day). Never sold anything, always kept it 'just in case'. Lived for Bags of Holding, Portable Holes and Heward's Handy Haversack. Rogue - Damn, I need six hundred feet of rope to be able to get you all up this cliff. Barak - Silk or Hemp? Will a chain do? Big links or small? Need some pitons while you're at it? Wizard - I need component X to cast this spell. Barak - Hold on... Constantly broke, rarely upgraded his own gear, as he was always spending his share of the loot on stuff he thought the party might need. Was able to host an entire 30 person royal delegation for a state dinner (in style) at the edge of the Wastes. Drove my DM crazy with the nine page equipment list. The rest of the party bought him plate armour at 6th level as a birthday gift, as he was still wearing the splint he'd started out with. At 10th had to be talked out of taking a wagon train to the dragon's lair, not to carry the loot back, but to carry everything and anything they *might* need (including a folding boat, 8 casks of mead, the foppish bard's entire wardrobe, and 12 spare wagon wheels). 43. Rowena Darkmoon Mage/Thief Reasonable at first, but ended up power mad, specifically hunting down other mages to steal their spellbooks and get more spells. Wanted to have a copy of every spell she'd ever heard of or read about. Paranoid about someone else beating her to her goal, she eventually started attacking every magic user she came across regardless of level. Blew up her own tower (with half the party in it) to keep her spell books from falling into another wizards hands. Managed to finish off a kobold shaman with a sneak attack using an arrow she'd pulled from the fighter's corpse. Eventually died when the Mage Council found out who was killing off it's members, and they sent eight of their best to capture her. Failed a save versus Hold Person (rolled a one) but it wore off before they could close the distance, and she took the mages and half the party out with a retributive strike from her Staff of the Magi. |
| MasonMurdoc03-19-07, 08:26 AM | 42 (I think?) Barak Kando - Human fighter/swiss army knife. | Comus03-19-07, 09:10 AM | 44. Gastellian Tiberial - elven rogue//beguiler. Most important thing to remember about him is that he is absolutely positively not an adventurer. He's a nobleman. All the odd trouble he gets into isn't his fault. Of course, he also violently opposes the slave trade and is more than willing to adopt a secret identity and fight against it. No one even bothers asking why he vanishes in the middle of the night anymore, or why he sometimes has more bruises and cuts in the morning than he did when he went to sleep. And man, last game he did the most unexpected thing ever. It was a cunning plan, though, I'll admit. See, he and the other party member need to get access to a mercenary base to capture the leader. Unfortunately, there's a personal army there. This gave Gastellian pause, because he can't reasonibly take out an army, and it would eventually come down to fighting no matter what. So, he and Zarix (other party member) are sitting in a tavern... Gastellian: "A whole army in the way..." *blinks* "Of course!" Zarix: "You can't burn down the city." Gastellian: "No, no. I have a cunning plan, my lady." Zarix: "Oh? How cunning is it?" Gastellian: "As cunning as a fox that got a Masters in cunning at Oxford, went on to hold the Chair of Cunning at Cambridge, and now works for the UN as a cunning consultant." Zarix: "That's pretty cunning. Let's hear it." Gastellian: "Adventurers. We hire adventurers to do it for us!" Yes, that's right. Next game we're going to hire a rag-tag group of heroes from various walks of life. We've got tons of useless stuff we've picked up, enough to make a reasonable reward. Such a brilliant plan, finally putting those murderous hobos to good use... |
| hiroshimahamster03-19-07, 10:20 AM | "As cunning as a fox that got a Masters in cunning at Oxford, went on to hold the Chair of Cunning at Cambridge, and now works for the UN as a cunning consultant." Mmmm... That sounds a mighty bit familiar... Have you been watching Blackadder for ideas?! You'd get the 'pointy finger of doom descending from the sky' treatment in my game! Anyhow, on with the thread... My favourite character is mentioned in my signature, but I'll elaborate here for those who hate signatures... Cora-Mialee Liadon-Greenbottle, CG Halfling Evoker (before she turned very epic and very scary) She had crazy stats that I rolled in front of the DM - the lowest value I had at the start (after racial mods) was my strength and that was a 12. The DM made me roll my stats twice (second time with his dice) and was very surprised (as was I and the other players) that the values were almost the same e.g. 14, 18, 17, 18, 17, 17 in order. I gimped myself by becoming a halfling wizard (long story short, she was an orphan raised by elves). What the DM was not expecting was her obsession with wands. She had one for every occasion, some she had bought, others made and some were used but kept for prosterity. She never seemed to run out of spells and all her gold was spent on consumables. She was such a good character that the other characters insisted that she was bought some defensive items. Even the CE rogue/sorcerer/assassin got on well with her - especially as she had saved his neck when the NE fighter tried to kill him (oh, how I love the scorching ray spell - Mialee invented the world's first fleshy polo...). She came into her own when she and the human fighter were left to face a dracolich. When the fighter dropped, she sacrificed herself to save the town with a sunburst spell to finish the BBEG off. Pelor himself rescued her and to repay her debt she became a cleric and faithfully defended his cause using her arcane prowess as a surprise to those who thought she was a lowly acolyte... She has since died, and ascended. |
| Tonil03-19-07, 11:41 PM | 46. Stephan, 16th level, 1st ed., Lawful Good Cleric Stephan was 1st. ed. AD&D, rolled using 3d6 in order. I rolled an 18 Wisdom, and his class was set. He was a classic combat cleric, using spells to enhance the melee experience. You had better wait until the battle is over if you want healing. He gained fame by being the only member of the party to walk out of the haunted catacombs. He brought back the other members gear and prompty hired an new group to fight for law and order. He survived several party changes, and became the de facto head of a small group devoted to law and order. At 12th level (this is 1st ed., when 12th level meant something) he subdued a young dragon and rode him as a mount. At 16th level he raised an army to invade the Orc Province of the Pomarj (Greyhawk). They captured two castles but were ultimately defeated. Who knew Gruumsh would care so much? But Stephan did escape. The price on his head meant that he became nearly unplayable, and had to go into hiding. |
| Mkall03-20-07, 01:49 AM | 47. Saint: lv 11 CG Human (mostly) Warlock/Hellfire Warlock A human with nothing but abyssal heritor feats. His mother was a succubus and upon his birth, many priests tried to remove the taint from him. It's slowly reasserting itself though. He will go after any form of evil outsider, regardless of what the rest of the party wishes. I based him off of the Boondocks Saints characters, right down to the prayer and Irish accent. While the party was fighting off a CR 17 Steel Predator, he went straight towards the 3 approaching Retrievers. He's a Cocky, arrogant and a rude SOB. 48. Malcolm James Higgins: lv 8 CG Binder He's utterly mysterious and has journeyed with the party for 3 weeks (game time) so far and has yet to reveal his true nature to the party. The cleric thinks he's a demon worshiper and The Paladin/Grey Knight thinks he's just a crummy wizard. He journeys for knowledge both wholesome and evil. Knowledge of religion and gods is his specialty, and if the cleric had an int greater than 8, he might enjoy some good debates. However for now he's just happy pushing her buttons. Up until level 7, he had never made a successful bind check, so the vestiges gotto have their way with him. Made him a fun guy to RP |
| Drahki03-20-07, 02:07 AM | My favorite character is epic Lucivar Burningsoul 10 Sorcerer/ 25 Elemental Savant (Fire) I random rolled the personality trait of pyromaniac, so his class levels seemed only natural. He ended building his own tower that utilized only Walls of Magma as the materials. He is no longer trusted among anything that is remotely combustible. The party rogue almost killed him because he could not resist seducing the rogue's wife (who happens to be a red dragon). Though he did get along rather well with the Dry Lich in the party. (Yeah, my group runs a little off the beaten path). |
| navar10003-20-07, 02:22 AM | 2E game Judge Rhinehold, cleric of Justice/Revenge Yes, named after the actor just for the sake of the name. This character was created directly from 2E's Priest's Handbook using the Justice/Revenge heading. He had few cleric spheres but had Detect Lies three times per day. The problem I soon realized was that he didn't have the healing spheres, which meant he didn't cast Cure Light Wounds. It was then I was starting to see how the Priest's Handbook sucked, but that's another story. Anyway, not having healing hurt, big time. I was beginning not to like the character. I wasn't caring about him. When the opportunity arose to draw from the Deck of Many Things, I did so without caring if something bad happened. I drew two cards. I got the 10,000XP, enough to gain a level, and the cohort. That was nice. Our playing group alternated DMing but we could play the same characters. DMs recognized not having healing hurt. I was granted the Healing sphere, and a roleplaying moment was used to explain it, by one DM and all others accepted it. It did indeed make playing a cleric easier. As the games progressed I was starting to like the character. Not because of healing, but for the sake of the game and the charactter. I made liberal use of the creating your own spells rules and created fun spells such as healing at a range (7th level 2E cleric spell). The fact that I eventually became such high level helped. I never played at such a high level before. It was the first time that I could consider Heal, Raise Dead, Regenerate, etc. as every day things as opposed to such high level magic being only in the realm of NPCs. From a character I was not liking and hoping would be killed, Judge Rhinehold became one of my favorites. I soon enjoyed playing him and was very disappointed when we had to retire our high level characters. |
| AlanBruce03-20-07, 02:23 AM | Mine was 2nd ed. A human swashbuckler y the name of Garofolus Garofuli, played him until level 7, I believe. This guy was a pompous, bigot, and vain swashbuckler (LE). Tolerated the human druid because of his race (and also because he wa sthe only healer), became close friend and ally with the paladin (human), but could not stand for the life of himself the CG half elf wiz, the NG half elf bard, and despised the NG elf rogue. Having high Cha and comliness at the time, he managed to steal the show as much as he could, but knew well when to stand back (particularly in elven temples, which he would not enter, claiming them to be "uncouth for my taste") Had the habit of carrying a pocket mirror to groom himself after every encounter "Might as well give my victims something good to look at before sending them to the Hells, no?" And then his vanity lead him to an old manor in the underdark, separating from the party to investigate on my own. I thought I was rescuing a young, beautiful maiden. Little did i know, i was dinner to a family of wights. Dashing to the very end, though. |
| Mookie3703-20-07, 02:02 PM | Edain, (2e) paladin of Tyr, seccond son of the ruling theocrats of his homeland, sent on a quest after their deaths. Right hand cut off by the drow, left eye removed by a Frost Giant in single combat, died toppling(literally) the Zehnt stronghold of Darkhold and risen up as a servitor of his god. Was a real blast to play and now serves as an NPC in some of my games. Vincent D'Burgh ("Vincent the Lame), cleric of Illmater, had a strength of 4 (cratastic roll, but every other stat was good). Left arm was gimped and right leg was 3-4 inches too short. Martyred himself in a ritual to save a comrades soul from the corruption of Bane, but was later resurrected by DM fiat. Still tons of fun to play, nothing better that the cleric of the LG god of suffering and servant of Justice using Inflict spells to dispense just punishment upon the wicked then swapping 'em out for cures to ease the suffering of the weak. Still looking to play a Crusader (ToB) of Torm just to finish off the Triad. |
| Dmitrii03-20-07, 03:23 PM | 3.5 Edition game 49?) Dmitrii Sokolov, LE Tiefling Rogue 9, [ECL 10] 15 year old psychopath, his twin was in the same party. Wore an eyepatch over his right eye to hide the glowing red. We were an evil party, but the rest of the group listened to me just because I had the strongest of our group (Krunk, Half-Ogre Barbarian 9) under my thumb. I remember having a suicidal attitude with him. Dmitrii (hiding in an alley):How many did you see, Dante? Dante (Also hiding): About 4. I think there was at least a Cleric and a Wizard. Dmitrii: Two against four? Well... let's go get killed. I loved that character. He was also a blindingly good thief. |
| Shar_the_Black03-20-07, 06:27 PM | Shar the Black: The same character my account name was derived from. He was a 10th level sorcerer in my friend's City of the Spider Queen campaign. A devout worshiper of Mystra and the mysteries of the weave, bearing a hatred for all malicious outsiders. He was dressed in an attire of all black clothing adorned with silver chains, with matching cloak and steepled hat, with a black cloth concealing his face from the nose down with silvery hair hanging at shoulder's length. (Think Final Fantasy's Red Mage, but more goth-like in appearance) Armed with his silvery Sword of the Planes Shar set out on a self-appointed mission to help cleanse Toril of evil outside forces. Even though I only got to play as him for a handful of sessions (DM always got bored with his games relatively fast), he was a lot of fun to play as. ---Shar's accomplishments--- -Assisted a group of adventurers in exploring an old keep that belonged to a once respected nobleman who died after murdering most of his servants and soldiers. We were hired by a nobleman who wanted us to go in and try to find proof that his family was somehow conected to a large sum of wealth and respect that the murderous nobleman once had. We went in and did some investigating and learned that the noble made deals with devils long ago, decided to go back on the deal after signing in blood and was driven into a murderous rage. We also learned that his physical remains became a Mhorg and that some devils were still present withing the keep. Needless to say, Shar lived up to his self appointed responsibilities and helped destroy the outsiders and undead. - Afterwards, the group was hired by the Lord of Daggerdale to investigate some drow raids. One thing lead to another and I was able to turn a priestess of Lolth into a raven to extract information from, and went head to head with an evil archmage. (After an impressive display of magical might, I was nearly killed by the archmage's powerful blasts of lightning bolt.) Unfortunately, the DM dropped the game then, and I wasn't able to resume my role as the enagmatic wizard. Maybe at a later date with a new group. I've got plenty more that I'lll post later... And without further ado... :bump: |
| Shar_the_Black03-20-07, 07:34 PM | Orlando Jast - Human Paladin of Heironeous :fight!: My first D&D character back in 3.0, playing in a custom campaign my friend Dustin set up. He was a pretty awesome guy, and unlike most folks who play paladins, I didn't have much trouble deciding what's right and what's wrong (that and my DM wasn't such a moral delima lose-lose kind of person). ---Orlando's achievements--- -Joined a group of adventurers in order to settle problems between a small village and a group of tribal goblinoids. (I made peace with the goblin king with a diplomacy check of 31, at like level 6 I think). -Fought the spirit of an evil druid and his monstrous plant creature (Think of a venus flytrap with a Pumpkin head) -Stopped a cult of wizards who were making a deal with some sort of group of evil artificers. -Explored a sunken dungeon called "The Money Pit", it was essentially an underground cavern complex that held many riches and trials to overcome. In there, I fought 1 on 1 with some sort of samurai guardian of the dungeon, won, and recieved a +2 holy katana (Which I was able to use as I was proficient in use with bastard swords). Also activated some sort of iron golem-like artifact that followed us around for a while. - Fought in an aerial battle (on an airship that looked like a fireball) against aforementioned artificer's army of constructs. - Traveled through a primordial jungle fighting dinosaurs and whatnot - Rode on a machine called the Iron Serpent (Think of a really long worldspanning train) - Captured by artificer's cult, and thrown into a pit leading into the underdark, where we located an abandoned dwarven city. Fought some nasty undead, in particular a famine spirit which bit my head off with it's vorpal bite (Luckily the barbarian was carrying an item called the "Crisis stone"; or a deus ex machina device if you will, so it sorta never happened... :thinks: ). And... we were foolish enough to accidently release a Balor who was sealed away with a magical seal, only to be opened if we solved a terribly difficult puzzle, which of course, we did. We obviously couldn't battle the beast, and it said something about hanging around in the underdark, so we fled and decided we should come back later when we were stronger, or if it caused some trouble down the line. - Fought and won a tornument with the party. In one match I used smite evil with my holy katana against a troll fighter and got 2 natural 20's. I was told that I literally cut the beast in two. :ayyyy!: Won over 70,000gp and decided to give practically all of it away to the needy and my church and was rewarded with the Saint template for being so gosh darn nice. (As a note, no trolls or other fighters were seriously injured or killed in the games, the high priest of Kord was present and basically took care of the injured/dead) As a saint, I was also given a task by higher forces, an angelic being gave me a +3 Holy Flaming Vicious bastard sword that contained the spirit of a Balor who was trying to redeem itself and serve higher forces. Once a month I could summon it for quite a while in order to help us with a goodly task or to help us out when things got really tough. - Fought in an all out war against the Artificer's army of constructs, evil wizards, and orcish infantry. Our army lost horribly... But we were able to retreat and negotiate an agreement to have the city we were in live under a tough occupation the othe Artificer's troops. - Assisted the group's Dwarven Barbarian on a quest to reforge his ancestrial Waraxe (Which was destroyed in the tornument). We were told if we reforged it in the spot that it was created, it would help us greatly in our struggle against said evil artificer. I had my Balor summoning sword of awesome-ness, our rogue was armed with a mighty firearm of some sort and had the ability to craft some powerful explosives, and our cleric became the a chosen of Aganazzer (Dustin heard the wizard's spell Aganazzer's Scorcher and made him a homemade god of fire because he liked the name). - Went through a series of trials in order to reach the sacred grounds of the barbarian's ancestors, reforged the mighty axe, and did battle with the artificer who finally made himself known, and unleashed his newest terrible creation... A Colosal Iron Golem behemoth which he piloted. One rediculously epic battle later, we saved the world and became legendary heroes! :king: :w00t: :dancin: :ayyyy!: Wow, that's a lot, and I didn't even go into detail! ....but yeah, that game was awesome  |
| jacobi28903-20-07, 10:25 PM | #51? Jaime Bidnovik, True Neutral Human Fighter. Specializing in tactical heavy armor and shield combat, Jaime would use her heavy adamantine spiked shield (in both hands no less) to pretty much plow things over. With the shock trooper feat, along with Improved bull rush, powerful charge, shield slam, etc, She would hit a formation of enemies like a bowling ball hits its pins. But that wasn't the fun part. What really made playing Jaime such a wonderful experience is who she was as a person. She was your typical happy-go-lucky 12 year old girl. Yeah, 12 year old blond haired blue eyed little girl. Her great grandfather died in the Last War (it was an eberron campaign), and she wanted to be a hero just like him. She wanted to be a great, upstanding individual, a bastion of justice, a protector of the weak. But, being an adolescent girl, she was prone to temper tantrums, mood swings and the like. And what made it worse, somewhere back in the family's gene pool, a little orc and dragon got mixed in there. Not to mention she was sharp as a razor but still quite eloquent for a girl (Int 16, Cha 15). And she was a bully. a big bully. one that could speak Abyssal for some reason. Every one of her non-fighter feats went to something that increased her intimidate skill. Some hardened thugs once tried to kidnap her in her sleep, since she was the attractive granddaughter of a war hero, but waking her up wasn't a good idea. With a +31 to intimidate, along with a 30 foot aura of intimidation, she could make grown men wet their pants. My favorite battle ever was one where nobody got injured, but the entire enemy team walked away in shame after the most hideous scolding in the history of Eberron. God, it was great. On the battlefield, she was known as the "Human Bulldozer," but in the tavern, she was the little girl that no one ever, EVER, made fun of for ordering a ice cold glass of milk. |
| holylink71803-21-07, 03:27 PM | 52...or something like that) Jarvis Tolluch, CG Male Human Ranger 18 (played from level 1) He was the 2nd character I ever made. One of my favorite adventures was when we got caught up in a giant vs human war, and Jarvis took on a squad of about 5 or 6 hill giants (beefed with character levels, of course) while the rest of the party was distracted. None of them survived to tell the tale. :D 53) Tallon Garniel, CG Male Human Barbarian (I don't remeber what level he was) This was the 1st character I made. I think he made it to somewhere around level 12, when he and another barbarian (Horace Vlek) were attacked by a red dragon. It grabbed Tallon and used its breath weapon, which, because he was grappled, came with no save. But, before I became a human BBQ, I gave it a run for its money. Good times. 54) Riku Darkwood, NG Male Half-Elf Druid 17 (also played from level 1) With the exeption of Jarvis, this was probably my favorite character. Sadly, I haven't been able to play him for quite a while now... :weep: That's it for now...maybe I'll post more later. |
| holylink71803-21-07, 08:04 PM | 55) Damas Rentar, NG Male Elf Wizard (currently level 7). Exiled from his family because he dreamed of becoming a mage instead of following his family name as woodland protecters, he was taken in by a dwarven mage who taught him the art of arcane magic. He changed his last name in an attempt to leave his old life behind. Unfortunately, he and his master had...a rather large disagreement, and Damas struck out on his own, vowing to return as a greater mage than his master before him. |
| Singer_of_the_Song03-23-07, 01:06 AM | What does the scouter say about his power level? What's a scouter? |
| holylink71803-23-07, 01:12 PM | What's a scouter? It's from dragonball z. You know, the mini computer some of the bad guys wore over one of their eyes that let them scan enemies to "size them up?" |
| Yakman03-26-07, 03:57 PM | Back in the old D&D days, I had a wizard who had a strength of 17 (she had an intel of 13 and we really needed a wizard). So I made her JACKED--every unarmed specialty that I could throw on her. It was pretty fun--bad guys would try to rush her, and she'd just pound the crap out of them with her fists. |
| Darth Krieg03-26-07, 08:34 PM | i always liked the guys from my first campaign/group Krunk the half-orc barbarian and the gnome. My dm gave him a special ability called battle cry. and everytime we entered combat if he shouted "GET KRUNK!!!" all his rolls gained +1. he traveled with a gnome sorcerror whose only clothes were a jester's outfit. Trogdor and Azrael the underdark gone good?... ...More like gone neutral. mine and a friends character were the tanks of the group, a duragar(spelling) fighter and a drow ranger. we would always be itching for a fight and trogdor once threatened a pregnant female goblin by saying he'd rip the unborn fetus out of her stomach and azrael's classic last stand in the underdark; getting ripped in half by a giant spider of loth. then our rogue and cleric. the cleric was human and always trying to make sure everyone got along and the elf rogue always tried to be awesome in a fight. though ended up getting his left ear cut off when trogdor believed his unconscious body was dead. we went down in a blaze of glory at mighty level :cough:3:cough: we had a good run |
| feartheinvinceblehamster03-26-07, 08:45 PM | 59. Dudukain Aeris. CN Elf Barbarian/Scout/Beastmaster. I think he was about level 28. He could kill about any creature in a few rounds by moving, then using multishot with his holy longbow with exploding arrows. Which was just hilarious. 60. Zakon. CN Death Slaad Warlock/Mindbender. He started as an elf, but I noticed their was a bit in the Manual of the Planes about a death slaad with great control over Limbo who guarded the spawning stone. And, of course, if you kill this Slaad, you become it. 61. Gark of the Whirling Blades. CN (Seeing a pattern here?) Barbarian/Fighter/Warhulk/Frenzied Berserker. Had a feat that basically gave him a +1 bonus on damage for every 1 Hit point he was below 20. Unfortunately, no one had considered Deathless Frenzy. He was dishing out like 2D8+4030 at a few points there. *hides* |
| Gdek03-27-07, 02:57 PM | Another came to mind... this was more of a limited run char in a GURPS fantasy campaign, way back in the day. Warning, this is a bit long. =) 62. Simon Boniface - created primarily to help a DM friend out with a campaign that had gotten a little away from him. He had a hardcore munchkin/min-maxer/power gamer in his group, who created a terribly unbalanced character. To boot, the player often used physical intimidation to get his way. Simon was a psion. Using GURPS point system, I took the Youth, Feeble, Albino and a few other flaws to punch up my point total. I then sunk all points into Telekinesis, the equivilent of accuracy, the ability to go intangible in short spurts and a magic bag of infinite 1 inch diameter ball bearings. His skill was such that he could fire said ball bearings at Mach 1.4 through a humanoid's eye at 500 yards, 19 times out of 20. Simon teamed up with the group's rogue to fleece the major city's rug merchants, by selling them some of their own wares as 'magic' carpets (thanks to TK). We rp'd around town for a while, with our Brute player having decided he didn't like my character immediately. I was careful not to let him know what I was playing, or have my character use his powers in his vicinity. We ended up travelling through the wilderness, with Simon piggy-backing on the Cleric's back. We spotted a dragon off in the distance, and of course Brute Player's uber build (ninja/tankmage/god in training) decides to charge it without waiting for the rest of the party. So Simon uses the couple of rounds it takes the uber build to close the range to riddle the dragon with holes, basically killing it before the uber build even gets there. The Brute Player is ******, but decides to sulk about it for a while, claiming it was his kill, and his uber build berates Simon for his assistance, claiming that he is the greatest warrior the realm has ever known, and certainly doesn't need his help. Anyhow, long(ish) story short(er) his character belittles and berates my poor little albino psion every chance he gets. We get to a big bad town, where Brute Player/uber build's **** poor attitude and role-playing gets his munchikin on the wrong side of the Duke's men, who proceed to attack him. He's handling the five he's facing at a time pretty well, so Simon decides to see how good a fighter he really is. Keep in mind that even at this time, Munchikin has never seen Simon use his powers, and I've never let him see Simon's char sheet. So Simon starts throwing more guards at him. Literally. He ends up in the middle of a mob (with reach weapons), which are slowly wearing him down. He pulls some ninja trick to disappear in a puff of smoke, and ends up in a narrow alley which leads right to Simon. "That's it, I'm gonna kill you, you puny runt," he says. Really... word for word. Cliche much? So I look at the DM. "He looks like he weighs about 250 lbs with gear right?" DM nods. I look at my sheet. Me: I can throw 250 lbs just about 3 miles. Let's do that. Straight up. Brute: How? You're a puny weakling. Me: I'm a puny weakling psionicist. Brute: Ha! I've got an amulet that makes me immune to psionics. (Which was a new addition to his character sheet since the last time we played. Meta much?) Me: Fair enough. Means my psionics can't touch you right? Brute: Yep. You are so dead. Me: Okay, I collapse all the buildings on both side of the alley, and go intangible. Brute: You can't. I'm immune. Me: To ten tons of falling rubble? DM: I think not. Which lead us to what my old group would refer to as the Ten Ton Solution. |

My first character and the one i feel best represents me, lvl1 paladin, lvl10 blackgaurd(was 11 paladin but a fallen paladin can ditch 10 levels of paladin for 10 levels of blackgaur) then he got bitten by a vampire hehe despite all this he still clings to being lawfull in a twisted version of the paladin's code except with harsher punishments and les restrictions on who he isnt allowed to kill 64. only recently made this one, currently only a lvl4 rouge. wears a chainshirt and weilds a spiked chain, basicly he wants to be a chain devil. Now a hat of disguise allows you to apear to be any humanoid creature or adopt any humanoid shape thus i pretend to be a statue, scarecrow or snowman and make 10ft reach sneak attacks with my spiked chain I mean come on who is going to suspect a snowman. also I plan to impersinate a fighter in full plate equiped with a sword and shield fooling my foes into beliving i will have poor reflex saves and only have a 5ft reach hehehe. |
| GnomeNinja03-27-07, 08:51 PM | Definitely Zander Kreegan, the LN Clr 3/Wiz 3 (Necromancer)/True Necromancer 9. The. Best. Necromancer Pc. EVER. He even had a good backstory and motivation about him being a prince of one of the countries in our campaign, though he exiled himslef due to accidentally killing his younger sister with dark magics. *sigh* I miss him as a character *sigh* |
