Wow, I'm so happy, this is my first tread :D I'm new to D&D and don't know all the rules that good yet. *hmmmmmm*, on to my question/s......

The char I'm playing now is a monk, tainted by Balor ( think it's called that ) And he is soon to die, cuz one of my fellow-players have told me that there only is a little chance for him to survive if Balor is going to be removed. Is there a big or small chance for him to die from the "operation?" :(

So, as for my next char I was thinking about making a wizard/rogue "that's a dual-class right?" And making his alligment CN. I want him to be more of a wizard, but at the same time making him able to behave like a thief.

.............just thinking, the wizard is caple of makin poison's right?

I don't owe any of the books yet, so I can only check when I'm with my group, but will buy when I get the money for it. Any good suggestions on what feat's/skills that would be important to me ?

Wizards don't gain the ability to use poison; that's reserved mostly for evil prestige classes such as the Assassin. There is a spell poison, but it's a cleric/druid spell. I'm sure your DM would allow you to research a poison spell, though.

I'm not familiar with being tainted by a Balor, so I can't help you much there. Do you mean "possessed by" a Balor?

A wizard/rogue is a multiclassed character. The build that makes the most of your wizard abilities and your rogue abilities is the standard Rogue 4/Wizard 6/Arcane Trickster 10. It grants you +7d6 sneak attack, 8th-level spells, impromptu sneak attack 2/day, ranged legerdemain 3/day, evasion and uncanny dodge. You'll have a BAB of +11/+6/+1 at 20th level, which you can increase through appropriate feats (such as Weapon Finesse, Weapon Focus) or magic (true strike, magic weapons), and your base saves will be +6/+13/+13.

Try the following build:
Human Rogue/Wizard/Arcane Trickster
1: Rogue 1 - Dodge, Mobility
2: Rogue 2
3: Wizard 1 - Weapon Finesse
4: Wizard 2
5: Rogue 3
6: Wizard 3 - Point Blank Shot
7: Wizard 4
8: Wizard 5 - (Silent Spell bonus feat)
9: Rogue 4 - Precise Shot
10: Arcane Trickster 1
11: Arcane Trickster 2
12: Arcane Trickster 3 - Weapon Focus (Ray)
13: Arcane Trickster 4
14: Arcane Trickster 5
15: Arcane Trickster 6 - Maximize Spell (or Heighten Spell)
16: Arcane Trickster 7
17: Arcane Trickster 8
18: Arcane Trickster 9 - Improved Critical (Ray)
19: Arcane Trickster 10
20: Wizard 6 or Rogue 5
If you take the 6th level of Wizard, you'll get +1 BAB (a third attack), +1 to all saves, and an extra 7th and 8th level spell. If you take the 5th level of Rogue, you'll get only +1d6 sneak attack (raising your sneak attack damage to +8d6 total). I suggest taking the Wizard level.

Important skills are Spellcraft, Concentration, Knowledge (arcana), and any Rogue skills you want to focus on. In order to take the prestige class (i.e. before you take your 10th level), you need to have 7 ranks in each of Decipher Script, Disable Device, and Escape Artist, and 4 ranks in Knowledge (arcana). I suggest keeping Move Silently, Hide, Spot, and Search as high as you can. If you decide to specialize as a wizard, you can't take Transmutation as an opposed school (since you need mage hand). You'll want to learn all the Ray spells you can, since you'll be focusing in them and you can apply sneak attack to them. You can also critical with them, hence the Improved Critical feat at 18th level (or earlier if you want).

[Edit: Clarification and feat adjustment. Note that PBS and Precise Shot (as well as Weapon Focus and Improved Critical) apply to Rays as per p. 38 of Tome and Blood.]

*bump*

Sorry to write 2 messages in a row (even though it's been a long time since the last post)

But I have made my Rouge/Wizard in another group (my monk survived but is now blind) and my Rogue-lvl3/Wizard-lvl3 is an Air-Genasi who has been recommended by his Master/Tutor to study Summon-magic (which I found out was really useful) so now I will go that way while at the same time I have been enrolled into the local Magic-School where I earn a bit of money by making scrolls :) So far life is good, but who knows what will await me and my sister (an Fire-Genasi, our mother had her share of fun when she was alive)
