I am pretty new to the D&D world, been playing for about two months, and I have created a couple of characters, but none to fit this new campaign!!! My DM has told me and my fellow player (two people plus DM in this campaign) the rules. They are: One player has to be martial, the other a caster, the characters will be level 2, and we are going by a 28 point buy. I am going to be the martial class, and the DM has already hinted that most of the campaign will be inside dungeons or catacombs and such. I need ideas for my character!!!! I need help!!! If anyone has any good level 2, 28 point buy characters or ideas for a character please post!!!

P.S. I would prefer to have a non-monk like character, so someone who uses weapons!!!
P.P.S I will check back on this in about 8 hours from the time of edit. Good night!

Ummm.... Sounds like you need a tank.

Halfling barbarian is always fun. Don't tell them what you're playing, just say you're playing a halfling. They will automatically assume rogue, so when you rage they'll look at you really weird.

Or for double the effect, mix barbarian and rogue. You get some trap detecting (which your group needs, bad), rage, and speed bonus. MAKE SURE you take your rogue level first if you do this. The skills will make it worth it for the game.

Thanks for the ideas everyone, but metalmalyhen... you have a very creative (it was that or special) mind (but not in a bad way).:D I like the rouge/barbarian mix, but (so many buts) I'm going to look at mix rouge with other martial classes.

Keep the ideas coming, and don't forget the feats!

Scout/Ranger with the Swift Hunter feat ASAP. Nice mobility, precision damage to undead/constructs, etc. (if you select them as your favored enemies and take Swift Hinter), good skill points.

Could be a lot of fun in a dungeon campaign. Have fun.:P
