If I multiclass into a Warblade... [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-25-07, 01:24 AM Ok, let's say I am a Fighter 14 and I take a level of warblade. I am effectively Initiator level 8. Howrver, I can't really take higher level maneuvers because I *need* lower level manuevers first as prerequesites! How do I get straight to the higher level maneuvers right away?

You don't need lower-level maneuvers, you just need other maneuvers. (The only point where you're fixed on is your stance, which is hard-limited to level 1.)

You don't jump straight to the high-level maneuvers. You just don't need to waste space with more lower-level maneuvers if you have higher-level ones to choose.

Work it out; it's a nice perk to high-end multiclassing.

You could do it the same way a character who takes one level in Wizard and wants to cast 8th level spells does - use items (Martial Scripts for this).

10-25-07, 03:35 AM If you take one level of warblade, you gain one stance (which must be a 1st level stance) and three maneuvers. The stance and maneuvers do count as prerequisites for other ones you choose at the same level, however.

If (for example) you take Mountain Hammer (Stone Dragon 2, no prerequisites) as one of your three maneuvers, it counts towards meeting the prerequisites for the other two which you get to choose, so you could then take Stone Dragon's Fury (Stone Dragon 3, requires one Stone Dragon maneuver), and in turn it counts as a prerequisite, so your third maneuver could be Bonesplitting Strike (Stone Dragon 4, requires two Stone Dragon maneuvers).
