| OM_The_Tortoise05-04-07, 02:07 PM | I'm guessing this turned up a few times before, but I still need the help: I'm playing an elf Bard 6/ Sorcerer 1 in a 7th level group. W've come to a point ni the plot where we have to fight this immoth. Now, we've already been 3 rounds with him, the first ending in a near TPK, where my temporary sorcerer character (not the bard, another character) got killed, along with several NPC's we had, and the next two rounds ended with him fleeing the scene with his telelport ability. Our party consists of me, a human psion egoist, a halfling rogue and an elf ranger / scout, and we just recieved a temporary 4th level druid NPC. The main problem is that we're in the middle of his iceberg castle, and except for the psion (that turned himself into a pyro-hydra) none of us has any ability to do any fire damage. My bard was able once to catch him in a suggestion spell (with which he freed the remnants of the first encounter from their icy prison), but since then haven't been able to do much. the last two times the psion-hydra did almost all the damage, and then the immoth just used his damn free-action nuggets to create a sleet storm and disappear. The second time he was also able to catch my bard in a confusion spell, then continuing to paralyze the rogue and ranger, only fleeing the scene when the hydra caused him enough damage. Now, if this was a regular case, we might have turned tail and ran, but we're on a world not our own, this guy killed several of our friends, has a lot of our magical items, and on the whole we're pretty bent on killing it. I'd really appreciate any ideas how we should go about doing that. I mean, the thing is just DAMN STRONG. On top of all the spells he's got (with incredible DC's), he's also got very high SR, takes almost no damage from regular attacks, and has those damned nuggets. Is there any chance for us? |
