In Game Player Info [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-10-06, 10:27 PM Just curious how everyone keeps track of their characters during a game session. For example, when you take damage, or gather new equipment etc...do you just keep updating your character sheet? or do you use a notepad?

If you take damage, it goes on a notepad. If they find treasure, before the can identify it it all goes on a notepad. Once it's all identified and everyone takes their share and the rest is sold, then they write it on their sheets. A lot easier than all the dread eraser marks.

01-11-06, 11:20 AM Sometimes I'll use a notepad, but frequently I'll just scrawl stuff on my character sheets. However, I use PC generated character sheets, so I tend to print off new copies every few sessions. That way my sheets don't get too ragged and I just copy or type off any important information before throwing the old sheet away.

01-11-06, 02:56 PM When I play, I don't use a character sheet. I print up my character as a DMG2 Stat Block. This way all fo the relevant information fits into one column on one half of one sheet of paper. I then make a table in the other column, usually set at 6pt type, with nothing but blank lines. Then when game time come, I have my character on one half the sheet, and a huge lined space for making notes on the other.

Here is a sample character sheet (http://madness237.com/elar.pdf), so you can get an idea what I'm talking about. I like doing it this way because I find character sheets waste too much space with graphic detailos and filler, and I hate having to flip through multiple pages of character sheet. With spellcasters I generally take less notes or use a seperate sheet (so I can fit their spells on the sheet).
