I want to build either an incorpreal fighter with a ghost-touch weapon or sorceror. Are there any incorpreal races/templates without the +5 Level Adjustment of the Ghost, or classes where you can become incorpreal (and preferabley not just a few rounds per day, but often enough were you'll almost always be incorpreal while fighting.) Also, force effects would obviously work, but what about other magic? Could an incorpreal sorceror though fireballs at his corpreal foes?

I don't know about any of the other guestions...
.I do know that there's this metamagic feat called "Transdimensional Spell". It increases the spells slot +1 and makes your spells go from the material plane to the Ethereal plane...
I don't know if it also works the other way around though, however my dm has houseruled it so it does work both ways....

The easiest way to become incorporeal through class levels is the Fiend of Possession, from the Fiend Folio. At 1st level, you can turn incorporeal at will. Racially, I think that the Ghost Template is your best bet. Sorry, can't think of any others for the moment.

WTF?

Is there something wrong with basic adventuring that you want to be immune to 99% of the effects in the game world?

No doubt if I was DMing for this character I'd totally TPK you.

"Ah ha, I have my ghost touch rapier."

"Crap that fight disarmed me, and now has my ghost touch rapier = ("

it might not be what you are looking for, but the uncarnate might be a prestege class you might want to look into. pg. 148 of the expanded psonics hand book.

I wouldn't kill off an incorporeal PC, we'd just fight more incorporeal foes. It'd be a cool plot device too. Imagine what the townsfolk would think of your ghostly adventuring companion.

Also, I'm sure the DM has no problem with it, because I'm the DM. And, as this compaign has only 2 players, besides myself, I voted to run a PC also. But little Jyxlle can make no decisions (unless I think his input is common sense, and the PCs are just missing it). He basicly just helps the pary not die.

Savage Species has a ritual making you incorporeal. LA +2.

I'd talk to your DM about making you a lvl 1 commoner using Savage Progressions for the Ghost template, once you finish the progression you switch to a PC class. [http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sp/20040117a]

lvl 1: Commoner1/Ghost1
lvl 2: Commoner1/Ghost2
lvl 3: Commoner1/Ghost3
lvl 4: Commoner1/Ghost4
lvl 5: Commoner1/Ghost5
lvl 6: [Class X]1/Ghost5

Fiend of posession requires you to be an evil outsider. I know. I'm playing a succubus fiend of posession in my current game. So badass. And i still haven't taken a hit yet and it's a 16th level evil campaign.
Anyway there is a +4 LA creature in the XPH with 4 racial hitdice called the unbodied which counts as a 4th level telepath manifester. Also telepathy levels stack with it. It has a ton of awesome abilities. Was thinking of making one myself. Kind of a holographic creature with massive mental powers.
