The diviner is probably a Wizard/Loremaster with Divination specialization, the illusionist is also likely a wizard (if anyone can find a good PrC let me know), and the charmer is a social-monkey bard. I know there are a few Psionic PrCs out there that may work well for any of these characters too. This combo totally pwnz non-combat situations...the diviner finds out whatever they can ahead of time, the charmer tries to negotiate alliances or manipulate people as the case may be, and the illusionist not only helps the charmer, but is useful if they do run into an opponent who needs some convincing, and can also do subterfuge and undercover work as well. Of course, an antimagic field totally screws them, except for the charmer's non-magic based skills. I'd like some ideas on how to lessen that impact. What races, classes, PrCs, feats, spells, items, and skill selection would you guys recommend to max out the potential usefulness here? I am so going to try and sell my fellow players on making this group of characters and tying them in together. We have 5-6 players so this is doable -- what other character types would you recommend to fill out the party? |

The Diviner is the back line scout, the Illusionist is the charmer/bald-faced liar, and the Conjurer is the party muscle. Granted our first couple levels were lots of convincing other people to fight our fights for us, and even more running away, but the average level is around 9/10 now, and we even occasionally fight our own fights. |
