Well, one character of mine Kalma in a Planescape play-by-post is looking at ways to extract information from a hezrou. That hezrou is looking for a thing in a gate-city to Mount Celestia.

The PCs have been hired to protect the city while the paladins and the celestials actually do the fighting.

The character's initial idea is to torture it out of him, but on the other hand if she can pretend to be one of the many henchmen then she could just simply extract the information by simply asking.

Asking has its own problems, since she is too clean. She even took a bath the day before. Although she has celestial blood on her shield, sword, and gauntlet due to killing two celestials recently, which could draw the rest of the hezrou's retinue away from the obvious smell.

But yes, back to the topic. What are good methods that could be used to interrogate a demon who seems to be made from toxins?

Learn the beast's true name.
With that, you could force it to tell you whatever you want.
However, learning a demon's true name could be the focus of an entire adventure or two. (Which could be fun.)
On another note, learning a demon's true name holds a great deal of potential danger. If the PCs learn the creature's name, they will be beholden to an oath that restricts them from abusing that power. The hezrou will speak and answer their questions, much to it's dislike, but it will be sworn to do so. (Such is the power of names.)

The hezrou is only a footsoldier. What I need to discover is something which is under a lot of time constraints. I cannot simply wait weeks or months interrogating it, let alone whole adventures. It is there at that time and place and so is my character.

You cannot cut it or threaten it with violence. Intimidation only works as far as force of will does.

The Problem: You don't know how to do something

Solution: Hire an expert! Be it a baatezu, yugoloth or even a tanar'ri not affiliated with the ones you are in conflict with. Professional help is only a summoning spell away!

Yeah, have someone cast Planar Binding to call a Devil, and have him torture the demon, and, as payment, give him the Hezrou to bring home with him.
