Iterative attacks are simply the attacks you gain when your Base Attack Bonus increases to a certain point. When your BAB reaches +6, you get an iterative attack at a -5 penalty when you use a full-round action to attack. At +11 you get another iterative attack at a -10 and at +16 you get a fourth at -15.

Or to put it a little more clearly, if your Base Attack bonus (only, do not factor in strength, dexterity, magic or other bonuses) is +5 or less, you get no second attack. When your BAB is +6 you get a second attack in a full attack action at +1. This increases as a steady -5 to your BAB. When your BAB reaches +11, so your second attack is at +6, you get a third attack at +1. At BAB +16 you have a second attack at +11, a third attack at +6 and a fourth and FINAL extra attack at +1 Further increases in BAB cascade down, but you gain no further extra attacks. The exceptions to this are using two weapons, having a natural form with more than one natural attack, and the Monk's Flurry of Blows ability.
