Just want to make sure this is all correct [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-01-07, 08:11 PM Right now, my intelligence seems a bit too insane. I am a wizard 15/archmage 1, with a base score of 18, and all of my extra stat points have gone into intelligence, making it a base of 22.

Then, I have a Headband of Intellect +6 (DMG 258), and a Tome of Clear Though +5 (DMG 268), raising my score to 33.

Then, I use Create Magical Tatoo (SC, not sure of page) to give myself three tatoos to give me 3x +2 intelligence, raising my intelligence to 39, with 14 mod. I have them on 7 or 8 hour "shifts," so I will rarely, if ever, have less than 3 tatoos on me.

Do I have that all worked out right, because it seems a little insane to me. Also, we weren't sure if having the bonus from the tatoos while preparing my spells would allow me to prepare extra spells from the bonus that a raised intelligence would grant.

01-01-07, 09:21 PM I don't have SC, so I can't see the spell description.

Does the Create Magical Tattoo spell grant an enhancement bonus? If it does, then the tattoos don't stack with your Headband of Intellect.

No matter what, you should have an Int of 27 for spells (I think).

If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me on any of this.

01-01-07, 09:35 PM Ah, it is an Enhancement bonus. That would be the problem then.

I should probable give myself Dex tatoos then, to increase my pathetic AC of 17 up to 20.

01-01-07, 09:38 PM Remember that enhancement bonuses don't stack with one another. Unless having 3 tattoos of the same type from the spell gives a +6 enhancement bonus, you will just have 3 instances of a +2 enhancement bonus. In that case, you'd only get +2.
