| Ultima007109-22-07, 12:07 PM | About how much damage should a 6th level fighter be doing? Average and max would be helpful ;) |
| Drag0nUL09-22-07, 12:41 PM | You don't specify what books would be available to build the said fighter, so I will assume core only. Let's consider a 6th level human fighter, with 16 str and a greatsword. Feats(only the one that are relevant for attack and damage): Power attack, Weapon focus:greatsword, Weapon specialization: greatsword. This gives the fighter 2 attacks at +10/+5 each dealing 2d6+6 damage. Average damage per attack(round): 14(28) Maximum damage per attack(round) no criticals 18(36) The fighter can also use power attack for better damage at the expense of accuracy. With full power attack: This gives the fighter 2 attacks at +4/-1 each dealing 2d6+18 damage. Average damage per attack(round): 25(50) Maximum damage per attack(round) no criticals 30(60) |
| Ultima007109-22-07, 02:44 PM | Ummm...well here are the books: Core (of course) Complete Arcane (Don't know how this would help...) Undermountain (See above...) Dragon Magic... (See above) I can use ALL the books tho. I just need an excerpt from the book. |
| Kouk09-22-07, 04:18 PM | I think "how much damage should a 6th level fighter be doing?" is too vague. Fighters can be built for lots of different things, so their damage will vary. If you are asking "What is the most damage a 6th level Fighter could do when using an XXXXX" that would be more easily answerable. Or something like "Is 800 damage a round too much for a typical 6th level Fighter to be doing?" would be easy to answer as well. |
| NinjaPenguin09-22-07, 06:52 PM | I've heard said that an ideal damage per round is 'enough to kill one opponent in two rounds reliably'. Whether or not you can do this depends on your build and gear. Whether or not you -have- to do this depends on your build and gear. Lots of things can contribute to it. |
