10-03-04, 01:52 PM When in the public eye do good and lawful things. If you are the leader of a thieves guild, have some of the thieves set up for you to apprehend, visibly and in public. Nothing that would permanantly hurt them perhaps even coordinating their escape from imprisonment in secret afterwards. But busting a bunch of thieves will make you look like a good, law abiding citizen in front of both the locals and the authorities, setting you up really well with a good facade under which to enact your more devious schemes. My 2 cents.

The frequency of these donations are more important than their size, plan a budget in advance so that it doesn't put a crimp in your finances. Once the local good churches are used to taking your money, ask a favor in return. Have this favor be to just give steady work to some down-and-outers with no prospects and no hope.

Of course, these hopeless sots are ACTUALLY rogues on your payroll who are good at Disguise, Bluff, Gather Information, Hide, Listen, and Move Silently. Make this job a sinecure for these rogues; never use them to do anything dangerous again.

Let them be your eyes and ears about what the "good guys" are up to.

10-03-04, 05:29 PM Get something that foils detect alignment spells on you. Permanently is best, though a piece of equipment is easier to get. Looking Neutral is easier than looking Lawful Good.

There is nothing like instagating conspiricy and currption to give you that NE feeling, throw in a little blackmail afterwards... i can almost feel that knife sliping in between their shoulder blades.
