MergedLoki 02-05-08, 04:32 AM	hey all i'm rolling up a new character later today, and i'm thinking i'll roll up a knight as my group NEEDS a front line warrior type in the group (we dont have one and on our first adventure our dragon shaman and cleric both bit the dust!) Now for my characters i always like to develop a bit of background/have an idea of what the characters ideals/goals are. Long story short, If i make a knight should i bother working towards a prestige class or just go with straight knight up to lvl 20 assuming I make it that long? so are there any good pretige classes (in your opinions) that go well w/the knight class/knight code of honour. Thanks.

inthesto 02-05-08, 12:05 PM	The only PrC I've ever found that (mechanically) meshes well with the PHB2 Knight is the Ashworm Dragoon from Sandstorm (or whatever the desert environment book is called). If you take a look at it, it's a really heavy focus on mounted combat, but the difference is that your mount gets buffer with you. I never got to try it out myself (as I didn't discover it until after I had made my character and didn't want to have a gigantically fudged retcon about riding around on sandworms), but if you plan it out from the start, it looks like it might work out nicely. EDIT: I guess I should point out that the two big PrCs I've found that look like they thematically fit with the Knight (ComWar's Knight Templar and Crusader) have mechanics that overlap so much with the Knight itself, it's really not worth multiclassing.
pigknight 02-05-08, 11:02 PM	No, do not prestige, do not multi-class, you see that lvl 20 ability use it, and when its about to end tell your cleric buddy to miracle full-heal you (if he follows a good diety that will let the cleric miracle heal you).
