| capeMyrmidon03-17-07, 05:51 PM | i'm a 6th level bardarian/1st level ranger/3rd level wild plains outrider, and my Dm and I came to an agreement that since the cleric gets items on his wishlist from his god (the things he gets are on the level of just plain overpowered), i should get somthing for my alligence to my god. since my character wants to be a knight/cavalier we agreed that I need to preform a string of knightly deeds to appease my god and the horseman in the army we are travelling with. what would you folks suggest i do? I've been at the front of the horse charge and have lead a small squad of men i trained myself. what else should i do? |
| Prator_the_Legendary03-17-07, 06:04 PM | Knight as in the Knight Class? Or Knight as in armored cavalry warrior? For the first, I suggest you yell a lot in combat, challenge enemies to duels whenever you can, and be the first one to charge into every fight. For the second, wear the heaviest armor you can without restricting your barbarian's class abilities (hint: Get Mithril!), get a lance, Ride-by-attack, Trample, and other mounted combat feats. In terms of actual DEEDs, you'll be doing a lot of the same stuff either way. Always fight honourably, be loyal to your commanders and your squadron, be courteous to women, and go on massive killing sprees to smite all the dishonourable people of the world whenever possible. Also, if you're literate, make sure you stick a lot of arbitrary Us in your wourds. To be a bit more specific, you could try to settle battles by challenging the enemy commander to a joust. You could serve as an escort for a highborn lady and her entourage as they cross dangerous territory. You could go beat the **** out of that mindless jerk, Sir Lancelot. The only limit is your imagination, really. |
| capeMyrmidon03-17-07, 06:10 PM | knight as in social standing not the class. just to clear that up. |
| Prator_the_Legendary03-17-07, 06:15 PM | Oh, yeah? Well, the rest of my advice still applies, in any case. You could even still do the arbitrary shouting and challenging, if you like. |
| capeMyrmidon03-17-07, 08:37 PM | hey man i really do value the advice:D didn't mean to come off like a jerk |
| Prator_the_Legendary03-18-07, 09:51 AM | Oh, yeah? Well, I didn't realize "Oh yeah" had hostile connotations before I typed it, and so delivered a totally different tone in my text than I had intended. |
