| Tevant_the_Bard05-30-06, 07:25 PM | I died (again) and now would like to play a kobold rogue, but im not sure what the stats are for a kobold. Could someone give them to me??? |
| X-Codes05-30-06, 07:30 PM | Humanoid (Reptilian, Dragonblood) -4 strength, +2 dex, -2 con +1 Natural Armor Darkvision light sensitivity +2 Profession (Miner), Craft (Trapmaking) and Search. |
| Tevant_the_Bard05-30-06, 07:59 PM | thanks is he a small size creature? |
| DegenerateElite05-30-06, 09:01 PM | Yes but he has 30 movement. |
| Crimson_red05-30-06, 10:40 PM | If you're hoping for just a little more this web enhancement (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20060420a) has some nice varient abilities to add to a kobold rogue, and by that I'm mostly just talking about the Slight build ability. Good luck! :) |
| Tevant_the_Bard05-31-06, 05:42 PM | thank you everyone for the advice and I have finally rolled up Grizzeld, the neutral kobold rogue. He has low strength and constitution, but everytthing else is kick a** Now a new question. I assume he would have a weird accent when speaking common, wouldn't he? |
| Kazeofwinds05-31-06, 05:52 PM | I've always imagined kobolds speaking in high-pitched squeaky voices |
| Cifer05-31-06, 05:56 PM | a new question. I assume he would have a weird accent when speaking common, wouldn't he? Well, as a reptile he hasn't really got lips, for starters. I like pronouncing them with ssserpent ssspeech, but that's just me. By the way, Monster Manual says something about voices like yapping dogs. |
| Tevant_the_Bard05-31-06, 06:33 PM | yeah when my DM uses their voices with a serpent hiss and kind of like gollums almost. But I thought he mightve gotten better at it considering he was exiled and has lived near humans almost his entire lives since he tried to save his brood mate from being sacrificed to their evil deity (unsuccesfully). Another thing is that it says kobolds mature by the year of 6 but im not sure what age he should be. Any suggestions? |
| __DnD4Life__05-31-06, 11:50 PM | If he is mature at the age of 6, then he should be about 10-15 years old. But, this all depends on the maximum age of kobolds. I dont know where to find that, so itll be up to someone else to enlighten me. |
| The Kobold Hero06-01-06, 12:12 AM | I think they would speak with a sort of Germanic accent, with elongated 'ss' sounds, slightly high pitched, and sort of a growl, when talking in low tones. Thats whet I usually do when i'm impersonating them anyways. :D |
| Alac Luin06-01-06, 01:30 AM | If he is mature at the age of 6, then he should be about 10-15 years old. But, this all depends on the maximum age of kobolds. I dont know where to find that, so itll be up to someone else to enlighten me. 2ed MM says a kobold can live to 120 years or so. RoD has a similar age. Regardless, 10-15 years is a good starting point. |
| Archangel6206-01-06, 03:08 AM | I'd reccomend RoD, if you want to be mean take the dragonwrought feat and start out 500+ years old, get a +3 bonus to all mental stats and no physical penalties. |
| Ralphius_Maximus06-01-06, 04:34 AM | Kobold Starting ages as displayed in RoD: Adulthood = 6 years Barbarian, Sorcerer, Rogue = +1d3 Bard. Fighter, Paladin, Ranger = +1d4 Cleric, Druid, Monk and Wizard = +2d4 |
| X-Codes06-01-06, 08:37 AM | They speak with elongated "sss" sounds because those sounds are common in Draconic speech. (I'm not a huge nerd, it's actually written in either Draconomicon or Races of the Dragon, couldn't tell you which...) |
