Labryinth stats?? [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-12-06, 06:50 PM Has anyone ever tried to write up stats for any of the characters from the Labryinth movie?
i thought it might be a cool idea, especially if players wanted to try the whole modern characters put into a fantasy setting. i see the goblin king as some kind of illusionist/transmutter. Ludo maybe a bugbear? i dont know, anyone got any ideas?

09-12-06, 08:10 PM I tried to do it once, but it gets hard fitting movies into D&D because the "heroes" often don't have class levels. The NPC classes don't fit either. I guess Sara can use a D20 modern Charismatic Hero class. Ludo is more like the Alaghi from Monsters of Faerun. I think the stats would be something like this:

Sara: Human Charismatic Hero (D20 Modern) 1st level
Hoggle: Gnome Rogue 3rd level
Ludo: Alaghi Druid 3rd level
Sir Didymus: Anthropormorhic Fox (Savage Species) Paladin 3rd level
Gareth: Elf Illusionist 12th level

09-12-06, 10:21 PM nah, hoggle is most defiantly a dwarf, i do belive they even mention it(tho beardless and possibly an outcast). and yes, jerred is most definatly an elf and yes he did use alot of illusion spells, but i also noticed that he turned things into other things an awful lot too, which leads me to belive he'd have a fair amount of transmutation spells too, maybe some summoning. as for the others i think those choices fit pretty good.

09-15-06, 06:21 PM This wouldn't be a bad idea for a campaign either. A huge labyrinth filled with just about anything. Shifting walls and magic portals everywhere. Hmmm....

09-15-06, 06:29 PM A group of us tried to come up with d20 Labyrinth years ago... it was a pretty fun exercise... it might be in the archives still. I'll have to google it!

09-15-06, 06:32 PM Don't forget the dangerous 1/24th CR eyes at the start of the labyrinth! Are they abberations or plant creatures?
There's an interesting weapon used in the movie that slightly resembles the "cat on a stick" joke.
Ludo is definitely a commoner in a costume! :D

09-15-06, 08:24 PM dangerous?? i dont think the eyes are very dangerous, unless you try to eat em of course. i cant even begin to imagine making stats for everything in that movie geez!!

09-18-06, 04:02 PM I decided to borrow some things from Labyrinth for my campaign, and decided that I would make the Jereth like character a high level bard. Bards get some nice arcane magic, plus I don't think a wizard could have high enough for the preform(sing) ranks.
