I'm really into making armies like in the D & D Heros of Battle book. I've created a couple and can contribute some descriptions of the armies like:
The Leader (name and background)
How many officers, therefore the size of the entire unit
non-commissioned officers' unit and size
Equipment and treasures

maybe we can also have records and sites of ancient, legendary battles that were pivotal to the development of our world into the thing it is today.

The battle of the Plains of Dirdan take place on a grassy landscape where trees are not seen for miles. The opposing army: the humans led by Thurngo Deathwrought (Fighter 9/ Legendary Leader 6) orders the 1st legion forward as the first wave. The other army is the a;lkfjlkdfjlakfjal and they have already commenced their forces forward. (will be cont'd)

I haven't figured out what race to use yet in place of alsdfjlsdkfjasldj. So if you have an idea for a race or another human army than that would be grand.

What about Piraquato savages (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=7472783)!

Still, a;lkfjlkdfjlakfjal sounds like a Blyndstar name. Or maybe that's only the commander, and the army's composed of Piraquto?

Just a note, different races could have different strategies and army organization. Their organization would reflect how they fight and what kind of weapons they use. Having a great leader also influence how an army is organized(dynamic and formed to directly counter an opposing army).

To make a battle believable you definitely have to do a background check and apply what you find out. For example, if one of the race is goblins then they tend to use superior numbers and mob techniques. They also prefer to use weapons that bash and bludgeon. When you create the battle on w/c they are in then you tend to describe goblins style of battle as an organized chaos that swarms the opposing army and use superior number to rout the enemy.

These savages have been disturbing a human city near the lakes of Dirdan and have been overrun by Piraquato savages who pillage their buildings. So the humans from the Kingdom of Aucirfa (Oct-seer-fa) form their best to rid the overwhelming horde of Aquatic Humanoids.

Battle of Frew Mountian (continued)

Weyna Ghirl had ascended the ranks among the Fravt Clan and now had been appointed Warcheiftess, the second highest position in a Truna clan. Most of all she looked forward to taking a fifth husband. Rash as always, Ghia Fitir, the visiting Khana of the Jirit clan brought her half dozen husbands to Weyna's promotion feast. Showing little restraint in her passions she put the woman of honor to shame in her love of husbands.

Weyna was infurated that any should dare show her up, and be so adored, and feared of the men that she hired an outlander assassin to take Ghia's life. Weyna's third husband Trigute, caught eying the visiting beauty was punished horribly. And now angry Truna wives might threaten to make their husband "As Trigute." Also the elderly losing their sight and their reproductive power are said to be "turning Trigute"

Ghia beat the outlander and interregated him in likewise terrible manner. Extracting the information she needed she killed the would be assassin. Calling her most trusted in, she held a war council. And it was decided that raiding the much bigger clan was preferable to outright war. (To be continued(again)

"Dirty Trigute" = Dirty old man + worse, snicker

Well "turning Trigute" has nothing to do with age, and more to do with losing sight and other things. . . But I do like your phrases.
