City: Rinsore [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-19-04, 09:21 PM Heres an idea for a city. I'm trying to create my own locally used world, and in it there is this city. So here's the idea.

Rinsore is divided into two parts. It is said that when the Gods created the world of Garnilye and found humans to be unjust of the land, they cried for days. Their tears created a massive river later named the River of Tears. An the point where the River flows through the Rinsore plains, there are huge hills where the banks of the river are closest. Atop each hill there was a city built in honor of a battle that took place there, where the land of Garnilye repulsed the attack from the Nameless One thousands of years ago. (there is alot of backstory here I can't get into). Anways, the cities were built on each hill, with a massive golden bridge that spans the river and connects the cities. The sides are East and West Rinsore. In the middle of East Rinsore there is a monument built of The Nameless One, a shrouded figure carrying a sword alfame in shadows. In West Rinsore there is a monument built of the Four Magi, the sect of wizards that drove back the Nameless Ones Army. They each carry a staff of the Elementi, Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind. Remember the River and the Hills Are huge, not just normal rolling hills and not a normal width river. The whole thing is a grand site. Also, if you like this idea, I have another for another city named Garnitrye (In the world Garnilye it's the capitol....tell me what you think!

With regards to your short description, theres a lot of flavour there, and imagery. I think we'll probably need more facts about Rinsore, the battle and the nameless one. Especially about Rinsore, like races living there, pop etc.

09-13-06, 01:53 AM I think the fire elves had a nameless god.. if I remember correctly. A flaming sword in shadows.. interesting.
