In most Campaign settings all of the Eastern based societies are in the east. Why is this? Is it just because we feel more comfortable with it based on the realities of our world? Why not step outside of the comfort zone and turn everthing around. I saw the WCP setting has it's eastern based cultures to the west.

I found the same thing. For that reason, I usually change it. That would be a great idea for the world.

Oh, ya, and I am relatively new too. Just by reading a few threads I get that the_one_true_shea is basically the leader of the project.

I call him a troll, but you can call him "leader" if you want to.

woah! Garm. When did you get back!?

Still, trolls are fun, no?

Anyways, a few questions/ suggestions:

I was unaware of where the cultures of the WCP were detailed geographically. Could you point them out to me? (sorry, been away from the WCP for a few days/weeks)
With the north/south polarization of Rizwil and Iradro, maybe we could have eastern cultures on one side and western cultures on the other? One could be more primal (rizwil) and one could be more artificial (iradro).

We hadn't yet, I was making a suggestion on what to do when we did.
That might work but to define Eastern and Western Culture as closer and further from nature might be hard work.

Then maybe we could have eastern and western cultures be half-iradro, half-rizwil? Then each could cover a hemisphere, and we could have a global conflict between the rizwils, east and west, and the iradros, east and west.

I have been considering this, the poles. And stuff. (don't believe anything you read of books locksley - he thinks he is sooo funny he can barely keep a strait face while typing sometimes - yeah we know each other face to face you could say. )( anyhow!

The idea; there are no real poles. East west north south - these are terms meant for people that have a planet with a hyperdense nickle hydride core and strong lines of "magnetic" force running up and down the planes. Our world doesnt have to have that.

Perhaps magnets only stick to things... useful to miners.. but what good to a sailor? You have the stars on the godshell... if not an actual god to aid you.

Perhaps there were once four kings, lets make it 6. Six kings of the world, six - magic kings. Real fisher kings these guys - tied to the world like arthur and england. In the long long ago, the way way back - these guys were "druid kings" if you will. Acting as mystical keystones - each equally distant from each other. Not petty kings, but administrative kings. The kings of the turning leaves and the setting sun.

This could be more indepth but I want to refer to the directions first.

I am thinking that (to ease the transistions) we have a "West Kingdom (somewhat oreintal)" and an "East Kingdom (somewhat african - truna and the bahgda and the lizard men of the desert) that are on opposite sides of the world.

Then there is the now gone "north kingdom" that was destroyed by the Rizwell - at this point we ditch cartisian rules and there was never an actual "south" it was.. how about Lieke Kingdom. North, West, East, Lieka, Renth, and Hanka.

Since the coming of the riz/ira - North and Renth have been "dissolved" as kingdoms. The kings are now dead (riz/ira backlash) and the kingdoms are all falling apart - but North and Renth are basically obliterated by the rizwell and iradro infestations there.

In the post - sundering era the directions could possibly be "head rizwell for awhile and then turn East. After a few days travel you'll find a pass leading into the mounting heading iradro."

- Who needs magnets? - Riz/ira glows bright enough that you should be able to tell which way is "north" by that alone. If the riz/ira had a effect on the god shell as well - it would be even easier.

The reason I think this a great idea - 6 really cool dungeons - "The Fallen Palaces of the Ancient Kings" Destroyed in the world sundering. Furthermore - considering what happened to the North and Renth poles ... wouldn't you be worried?

Umm, if that is incomprehensible - I can't retry. You see what I am saying about "6 poles" right? One of my presumptions that the world is hollow - Imagine what "poles" would do to the inner world!

I've always envisioned the Truna as a more oriental culture, because the main influence on them besides the Amazons is the Mongols. Though they could certainly maintain that in a place more African influenced as isolationist as they are, perhaps?

I hadn't really picked up a ethnicity - I was thinking in general terms. I put them into the african because they are from a steppe / desert area.

Admitadly eastern china is steppe / desert - but thats why they got thrown into the african group. I think steppe or desert I think africa.

With all these disolving kingdoms refugees would be certain, and they would probally not be welcome/be looked upon as invaders.

Where exactly would these dungeons be? Not everywhere has the potential to have massive dungeons running underneath them. The only places I can think of that could really comfortably house a massive dungeon are the Kaiser and Twilight Deserts.

(P.S. I'm really undercover trying to save the world as...ta-da! Spiderman! Using my powers over all things cardboard and square I will defeat the evil Joker and restore peace to this unrestored, peaceless city!<-- lolz :P:P:P)

Well, as far as these places go - I was rather thinking that Sun City would make an excelent site for one of these - that would also place Sun City on one of the poles.

Could be the Hanka? Eh.. well we could also make up new stuff too. I admit the ancient kings is more a paradign concept thana practicle idea. I just like the idea that the world doesnt spin. or anything.. per se. By having "six poles" and a "hollow core" we have very "not physics" world.

I like "not physics" worlds. Loosens things up for metaphysical ecologies to make allot more sense. At least to me.

Garm - quite right, but remember the fall of these kingdoms would coincide with the fall of basically all civilization itself! Most kingdoms would have been in reclimation mode at least - and also... there were no refugees from the Northern and Renth Cities - those were consumed by the riz/ira. The "equitorial poles" hmmm... well... one of them would be the twilight desert.. I don't think they really left "per se" so much as they adjusted to the new world without the (er... Hanka? ) "divine king" or whatever we want to call these "fist of the north stars" kinda guys.
