I got this idea from a dream.

The Terlion Wars
Hundreds of years ago, a fire elven mage named Terlion, with the help of her shadowrat shadow mage lover Gla'snak, discovered a way to bind creatures of faith, such as demons and celestials, into material items, infusing them with their power. They discovered how to make them easily and quickly, and soon manufactured enough of them to enable them to seize power in their respective societies. Soon, a shadowrat-fire elf coalition poured onto the surface, and began waging war on the nearby human kingdoms. Eventually, at the Battle of Bloody River, they were beaten by sheer forces of numbers by the united human kingdoms. However, the kingdoms were greedy and resentful and each wanted to posess all the weapons, and to ensure that the others had none. War soon followed, and it continued for many years. Eventually, the humans were obliterated by an invading orc army that they were to weakened to resist. The weapons were scattered, and now can be found in many places. The notes of Terlion still remain, locked in the deepest bowels of the fire elves' mage guild library.

Terlionic Weapons
These weapons, which come in many different physical forms, all have the same enchantment. They are +2 wounding, keen, intelligent weapons. They all resemble they're original forms, but the metal is changed to red and black, the blades are often serrated, and large, curving spikes often protrude from the edge.

Creating a Terlionic Weapon:
In order to create a Terlionic Weapon, the creator must be an arcane spell caster of at least 13th level. He must have read Terlion's notes, or have in effect created a 7th level spell to represent the research required, and have a master crafted weapon, an outsider without any of the following types bound, as with a planar binding, magic circle against evil, etc, : fire, water, air, earth, shadow. He must have access to a piece of shadowstone worth 8,000 gp and a weapon of at least masterwork quality. The creation of the weapon is during a complex magical ritual which lasts 3 days, during which the caster may not cast spells, fight, or engage in any stressful activity. The ritual requires the casting of the Trap the Soul, Keen Edge, and Mordenkainen's Sword spells, as well as the loss of 2,000 XP by the caster. The Last can be avoided if the caster has uninterupted access to a leyline hub for the last day of the ritual.

You are not being snubbed. It is just perfect how it is and nobody can think of anything to make it better.:)

Well, I'm a D&D person, so it's not like I'd have anything to say about the Magic card ideas.

The general idea itself is fine. I would be most interested in more details about what a Terlionic weapon is like, especially the personality of the weapon.

The personality of the weapon depends on the nature of the outsider trapped inside.

What kinds of outsiders can be trapped? Just demons and celestials, or elemental outsiders, too?

Well, I would say that elementals wouldn't be able to be used, because they are embodyments of the elements that power magic, whereas a demon/devil/celestial would be created by the faith of people of appropriate alignments, and would be fundamentally different to them.
