Anything already done on this?

I was thinking it would be cool if the world had more than one moon, or none at all.

One of the ideas was having rings around the planet. A sorta "rainbow bridge" or "god shell" kinda phenomena... but no one has really tried to claim the "moon" as far as I remember.. and even if they had..... we don't write things in stone really. ;)

Then how do things get done?

Do they?

Discussion.

I think it'd be interesting if there was now moon..

How, then, do lycanthropes change?

Perhaps it's based on a cycle in the rizwell-iradro...

When one of the two (probably rizwell) exerts a certain level of activity, it causes Lycanthropes to Transform.

if lycanthropy was based on the riz-ira cycle, assuming the transformation was during the rizwil activity, what would occur during the iradro activity? riz-ira relationship is a bit more polarized than that of night and day, with day being normal. Maybe the iradro activity causes a different strain of lycanthropy to occur, or for the lycanthropes to change into an alternate form?

Well, we have to look at what defines rizwell and iradro.

From what I understand, Rizwell is more 'organic', hence why it would be the cause of Lycanthropy,

Perhaps Iradro activates the polar opposite of Lycanthropy. As to what that is, I guess, is up for discussion.

Well you've seen my summary. Thats one kind of getting it done. Really things get done by someone taking the time. If you do it. It got done! :D Simple!

No moon? Well isnt that a wierd world!
Hmmm. If lycanthropy is tied to a riz-ira cycle then what was the lycanthrop cycle connected to before the riz-ira? What if there were no lycanthropes?

The magical disease could be a riz-ira phenomena... we could make modifed "were-creature" rules for wcp specifically. That could be very interesting.

Of course I'm still ok with having a moon. Do you have some idea for stuff to go on the moon Lawin?

In my post, Twilight Desert (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?p=8881265#post8881265), i have created a race called the Twilight Thri-Kreens (after my own favorite DnD race). Maybe the iradro thing could cause radiation in their exoshell things to glow blue. you know, not a bright blue, but just enough to be noticed at 15 feet away from one. i dont know. its an idea though. Or maybe we could have like a northern lights thing that fades and gains intensity every month like the moon waxes and wanes in place of an actual moon.

I don't have anything concrete yet. I just wanted to open discussion of moon/s or the lack of them, not bog things down with details. Please discuss lycanthropy elsewhere.

Ok so Im sitting on a friends porch and I have this great idea!2

Our earth here, is no earth at all! It is a moon obiwon! Wouldnt that be grand! Instead of the godshell being around the world itself - the godshell1 is around the .. GAS GIANT! that replaces the normal moon's "romantic" position in literature!

Anyone seen escaflowne? 2001? Giant Gas giant in the backdrop! Cool.

Then there could be some other moons too! They would be bigger than the "planets" from the real earth. In our world you could see the faces of "the planets" as though they were moons!

:rimshot:
'Cause they are!
Should we have a space station? I mean flip it! Why not? I could pop up some laser gun cards and its not like a space ship would be all that much more capable than a good starjammer. Gith based extraterrestrials? Its a magic based world of course but mindflayers and etc can get kinda cheasy.. I like em, but... fantasy world with sci fi "planes" ;) eh?

1 - The godshell is part of the word with rings discussion, basically the world has rings in the sky as well as anything else.
2 - Im kinda out of it, I was worried I might forget this, I should be back tommarow, er, no sometime next week. well maybe tommarow.

That's a rather massive idea and change...

Could we create a simple, general summary of the world's established components and characteristics? The long lists and multiple links aren't doing it for me, and for others, I suspect.

or

adding the spacestation?

An all inclusive summary... eh? Well - thats harder than one might think..

Lemme give it whorle!

So we have a very big world. Did I mention its hollow? Not just hollow but it also has an underdark (that is to say extensive tunnel architecture that doesnt poke out into the surface). The merfolk, the gnomes, and the elves are the "oldest" civilizations. There have been discussions of a tropical region, a "nothern" waste, and a couple of deserts. Dragons are common creatures, humans are not. We have allot of creepy darkside fey running around as well.

Nothing has been set in stone per se but there are a few pretty established concepts. The elves of this world are more fey than humanoid. They have five subraces - one for each mana type. The Ithawu and the Virix are two of the more original races that have gotten discussed - The ithawu are tree froggy rain forest people and Virix are lizard-centaurs that inhabit one of the larger deserts.

As far as actual locations... flash rock peak? Hard physical locations for these guys - and actual relative locations more so - Are not really hammered out yet at all. Of all the areas that have been explored I would say the Hinterland Wastes (now the east pole? ) has been the most "visited" - a tundra environment where the Lords of Demise, the Niter, and the heart of the Rizwell can be found.

And there we're back at the ground floor. I would (and will) have more "prose" summaries of what we have here - but its far from cohesive. For some things.. (like I dunno, the dunno fish and the sprouts) there is very little more than an entry on list. Feel free to add more entries. Or take a thread and run it down. Either way. Its like improve - we're working with what we got!

Well, what would the grounds-dwellers think of some flying, blinky thing in the sky? Did they put it up there? A MONOLITH ala 2001? Is it elemental based, or 'polar force' based? Is it magical at all, to be able to survive in Space?

gives me an idea to write a myth

Well, honestly with the amount of potentially grand and overwhellming celestial bodies... do you really think one more star will really cause a fuss?

I would imagine only the astrologers would even notice... attribute it to a god, or theoretically.. (with advanced magic) "spy" on the station. Also I am thinking "starjammer" esqu space station. Held in place by psionic/magic and etc.

What if... one of the currently identified races was actually extraterrestrial in origin?
Thri-kreen, Brayvenn, Demortali pop t as candites.. particularly the Demortali. The demortali are "metal people" makes it a little more consensual that they might have come from off world.
