| jmpullen07-19-06, 11:42 AM | Me and a couple of my friends got this idea to make Oblivion into a DnD campaign. Its an RPG, the game play is very similar, yadda yadda yadda. We like DnD and we like Oblivion, so why not merge the two together? Is anyone interested in helping me with this. If you are, here are the positions that I have open. I will also post this topic on the DnD forums at Wizards and the Official forum at Bethesda. Zoologists. Need 10-15. Zoologists wander the vast land of Cyrodiil gathering information on Monsters. Must have good knowledge of Monster stat blocks and how to create them. Field Researchers. Need 20-30. Field researchers wander the lands of Cyrodiil gathering side quests. What I need from you guys is detailed accounts of the quest stages, and what needs to be done to do the different parts of the quests. All the quests need to be adapted to support multiple characters. Scribes. Need 5-10. Scribes will compile all the information acquired from the other people into a workable, playable, readable guide book. Planned Books: Players Guide to Cyrodiil, A Guide to the Creatures of Cyrodiil, Quest Guide, DM's Guide to Cyrodiil, The Amulet of Kings (the Main Quest). The Amulet and the Players Guide will be the first ones that need to be completed. Editors. Need 2-4. Editors will edit the Scribes work. Editors will refine the work and smooth out any rough edges. Players. Need 20-30. Players will wander the lands of Cyrodiil, collecting and making stats for Weapons, Races, Birthsigns, Classes (or keep same, lets take a vote). They will also research the Main Quest. Cartographers. Need 5-10. Cartographers will explore the cities and the dungeons and the fort ruins and the Ayleid Ruins and make maps of their interiors. Arcane Researchers. Need 5-7. Arcane Researchers will study spells and their uses. Any 1 person may take a maximum of 3 positions. I know you want to help, but a lot of other people want to help, too. Everyone will submit their work to the Scribes, and the Scribes to the Editors and the Editors to me. I will be helping you guys with this. I'll take positions of Player, Field Researcher and Zoologist. I plan on submitting the finished work to Wizards of the Coast, and, if I can wrangle it out of them, everyone of you who helped will get a copy of the Oblivion campaign for DnD 3.5. It also means that Bethesda is going to have to make an alliance with Wizards. I will see to it that every one of you who helped will get their names placed on the credits of the game if it ever gets published and distributed. James Pullen |

They may already be doing this and if you "waste" (i mean fun fun fun and all but... ) if you do all that work and then... bing bam boom they release their port... cmon. Prostyle - contact Bethesda and Wotc - ask and you'll likely recieve - eh? Oh, and this is technically a spam post on this board. We are making a world - not converting one that already exists... I mean - we have a "junk" thread for "catch all comments - "hey you guys might be interested" and suchlike, but this thread is gonna stall .. like now, well maybe - email me (I love oblivion). |
| Undernetter08-12-06, 08:34 AM | yep, reminds me of that time that me and a bunch of dudes from my campaign got together and turned starcraft into a d20 system game, only to find out that it had already been done by someone else, although i forget who now. man that sucked... |
