| the_one_true_shea10-12-05, 09:09 PM | I coulda swore there was more to the Quoto thread than this... must have been brought up elsewhere (thats why you need to start workin on your thread summaries shea.. info gets spread out ) Ok, I really like the Quoto idea... and I prefer the Quoto spelling. Quto makes me think "cue-too" or something.. K'woh-to ... Quoto. eh? eh? and the Xochu, and the Piraquto... Cobe. You see along time ago there was a mighty wizard named Cobe.. or called Cobe. Or at the very least Cobe was very similar to the name he was called regularly. This was a long time ago folks, and we are gonna call him Cobe. Now Cobe liked the dead things, and in his path to the heavens he created a mighty empire based on his personally crafted necromantic arts. Cobe was actually one of the eldest of the necromancers, and those that follow the black arts often dream of putting their scaley claws on any of Cobe's Manuals. Most look to the City of Quoto to find them, but if any remain they are most likely in use. Cobe's rise to power is so well known because he built such grandios cities. One such city, called the City of Quoto, is built in the middle of a river. Not on an island in the middle of a river, but just plumed into the middle of a ragging cataract. The towers depth are below the water, and platforms keep the majority of the city above the surface, but the city was obviously created with amphibious intent. The Xochu'tek merfolk are the only inhabitants of this city to this day. They occasionally war amongst their own tribes, but few others are willing to take up residence in a floating city.. particularly one that reeks of ancient necromancy. Those that study the Xochu'tek closely (and live to tell the tale ) say that the Xochu'tek worship a dark diety Xochu, from whome they take their name. Those that know, perhaps too much, about the dred god Cobe say that Xochu is Cobe. Centuries removed from his imperial expansion. Xochu shows all signs of being an elder god. Rare physical appearences, and a refined sense of ethics. Where Cobe was rash, Xochu is reserved. Where Cobe sought personal glory, Xochu seeks the secret advancement of Goals. Where Cobe was a powerful name.. Xochu is an unstoppable force of nature. Is Xochu Cobe? If so, fear the divine beast that has lived through three wars in heaven, the passage of nearly four mellenia, the rise and fall of countless nations... and still has plans for the future. |
