| Oops07-05-04, 10:09 PM | I haven't been keeping track of this board, but I'm still interested in what happens here. What, if anything, has been absolutely agreed on with magic? What is generally assumed but hasn't been finalized? |
| Thomar_of_Uointer07-29-04, 12:24 AM | The 10 "levels" of spells. Starting with simple cantrips like light, and ending with amazing "9th level" spells like wish. The entire "levels" concept is agreed by every mage school I've been to. It's probably the best way to divide up spells in terms of power and difficulty. It even spreads into the realms of psionics and religion, proving the magic-psionics transparency theory. Thoarnin had a conversation with a half-celestial on this topic, and he recorded that even spell-like abilities that some monsters have can be divided up like this. |
| Oops08-14-04, 07:33 PM | |
| Thomar_of_Uointer08-14-04, 10:33 PM | (That was in-character) Please restate your question. |
| turalisj08-15-04, 03:49 PM | is there any schools for water? |
| Thomar_of_Uointer08-16-04, 04:28 PM | In the D&D core rules, Water is a spell descriptor, not a school. |
| Oops08-17-04, 03:28 PM | This isn't exactly D&D. The whole levels thing didn't seem like it was within the context of this board. |
| Jeweler09-07-04, 09:17 PM | What i think (s)he meant, not knowing anything (sarcasm) this doesnt count, but i think (s)he meant was what system of magic, spell points stuff like that, different forms of magic. Iguess am i rite |
