| the_one_true_shea03-19-05, 11:35 PM | Welcome to our world! Please make it your own! The world is here for all of us. Whether you play D&D or M:tG this world is for you. We are taking threads from the tapestry of Dominara and braiding them into the chin hairs of dragons. Planeswalkers and player characters alike are to be found here. Legends? NPCs? Decks and Character sheets people! This world is more than just D&D and M:tG! Without any further ado I have created a "Junk Thread" for random commentary and "etc" Click Here... (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=651001) to see whats up with the WCP collaborators themselves. We have hammered some more details into the "Merfolk" issue. (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=196608) In general tending toward a world where all the merfolk races spring from a shared (and ancient) source. Garm brought in some "pritification" with his Art Gallery (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=674281) Thread.. but we need some more art in there! And most lately - disscussions of the Dwarves (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=229127) and the other Underdark (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=46809) races has come up again! About time! ;) The underdark thread has been around as long as the WCP itself. You might have missed... The inspirational work of The Goblin Flectomancer himself (Dusk! The World of Carthasana! (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=629888)). For some D&D/M:tG cross-conceptual musings Click here... (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=652904) Take a moment to check out the monsters of the new world thread! (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=496881) Originally started by I am Famine – this thread has some very nice (and crunchy) Monsters for written up both for d20 and M:tG exclusivly for use in our world! Thanks again I am Famine! Now here we start to get into the meat of the WCP. Here I (the_one_true_shea - you can call me shea or tots whichever) keep track of everything! Barring my own oversights and unavoidable slackitude everything that has been discussed on WCP should be linked here. Whenever you can’t find that that one thread that has that one thing check here. If you can’t find it here…. Well .... post a comment and tell me to add it. Also! Please feel free to format and proffer your own formatted summaries for any of the subjects. I will quote and paste any “summaries” anyone posts on this thread.. I may edit them slightly ;) I.r. Geography. These links will show you the face of the world. As of yet there has not been a unification of regional concepts. At this time: each of these regions exists in a sort of void. Most them have no references to any of the other regions. Connecting the dots between some of the more established areas (such as the Hinterlands and the Cascades) is something that is just begging to happen. We have some maps for your review and approval, http://www.geocities.com/leaves_or/worldmap1.txt http://www.geocities.com/leaves_or/worldmap2.txt did we want to use any of the others? and umm where did those go again? | the_one_true_shea03-19-05, 11:42 PM | Hello, in case you didnt notice I maintain and edit this thread. I am an organizationally minded young man (never you mind the picture of the sword wielding girl I have for my avatar) that is still pretty new to this Great World Creation Project. I have contributed nothing of worth, as of yet, to the WCP, but I plan on doing so soon. First Ive gotta get my summary in line with what I want it to be. Please post something about yourself and what you have contributed to the WCP here, and remember! You can edit your posts when things change, when you add more content, when you think of something fun or funny to say, or (gods forbid! ) you decide to leave the project. here goes.. :D Follow me! :D |
| Brknlf03-22-05, 01:23 PM | This post looks a lot better they way you have it edited right now and its something long overdue around here. One contribution of mine that was overlooked and is under debate is the Races - A New Twist (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=255957) thread. Also, you may want to add the current nature of magic (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=329487) thread, started by Tev Loneglade, along with the Elemental Magic (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=47466) thread (both under debate perhaps, though similar ideas that could work well togther actually). The latter topic started by WizO_Iyala harps back to the original nature of magic post (pruned long ago) that talked about leylines and the original suggestion of ambient magic. Lastly, I don't think there is any intention of WotC to market this shared world, either as an RPG or TCG. The only conversion is in the form of homebrew campaigns and/or fantasy cards submitted by contributors to the WCP. |
| the_one_true_shea04-11-05, 10:38 AM | Talk of magnitudes passed between myself an Brklf, grand cosmogony indeed. Talk of dragons, the ithawu being native to the cascades, and both the elder and younger LAR, a new take on the ETR concept. Tev loneglade put a couple cents into the biodiversity thread, and Im still generally poking a few older posters. Agent Graves seems to have gone MIA though. I have some sblock ideas for the summary edit. I will be doing that today, hopefully finished before I get off work. Hehe merry monday! |
| Brknlf04-18-05, 12:10 PM | I'm back, been gone due to school and family stuff. The summary post is looking a lot better, I like what you've done with it. Its so much more clean now. Is that code offered by WotC for the forums or something you found someplace else? |

Ummm, as far as the old threads - set your display to "since the beggining" and you should see some older stuff. This board has been plugging along for about 4 years. If you look into the old old posts by people like Leaves and Bandito there was a previous incarnation of WCP on the old boards. Very little info, if any, made it through that ancient cataclysm. |

| the_one_true_shea01-07-06, 09:45 PM | AH! :shifty: Good thing I went ahead and added the Trun Steps to the Regions before thinking I had already done so in the races section! :D |

| Rny201-29-06, 08:54 PM | Well the poles would be under regions, and you'd need to make a new table for organizations, maybe shift some over from races/racial ideas. Perhaps you can tie the Kaisers to the 'dragon kings' idea"? EDIT: Hey, have you noticed the name thread is now unstickied and deleted? Eerie. Have they chosen a name? |
| the_one_true_shea01-31-06, 06:48 PM | Over at coco they are some pretty impressive layouts. Been tinkering with ideas in my head. I like the world better "nameless" for now. For a long time really. It's meme. The world, what world.. this world. The world. Nameless for now... |

| Lawin03-28-06, 01:48 AM | So, can anyone explain all of this to me? It's kind of hard reading everything to get a picture of what's been done. |

Welcome to the WotC (http://boards1.wizards.com/) World Creation Project (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=360). The purpose of this board is to create a world setting that can be shared between Magic the Gathering players (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=360) and D20 System players (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=259). This project is open for you to participate in however, you should be respectful of the many creative individuals who have been involved with the project up to this point. The first question that many ask is: "what does WotC intend to do with the WCP?" (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=47135) Simply enough, they are letting it grow on its own. Some of the members that have contributed to the WCP (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=360) have some hopes (perhaps dreams) that this project will share space on store room shelves one day, in both the ccg and rpg sections. If you are concerned with keeping your product identity your own I suggest you check the Champaign Workshop (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=295) forums, everything there remains copyrighted to the original author (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=238417). Posting information on this board is done in good faith acceptance of shared creation. That said, accidentally posting your personal world creation project on this board will be, and has been before, politely redirected (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=405398).
