| #1squidyakMar 05, 2009 23:22:36 | I was trying to work out how to make Bloodlines work in a possible E6 Birthright Campaign when I realized that sorcerers work well. Players could choose to sacrifice their first level feat to be blooded. At that point they can roll 3d6 for initial bloodline strength. This character is now eligible to take levels in the Scion class, which would basically be the sorcerer with a spell list limited based upon the chosen bloodline. All scion spells use bloodline as the base attribute. These spells have no chance of spell failure. Rolling randomly is a pot-shot, but even if the character rolls poorly he can increase his score through blood-theft. The lack of combat ability for the scion class is balanced by the fact that it's an E6 campaign and I treat multi-classing as gestalting so a Paladin 6/Scion 6 is the same experience level as a Paladin 6 with 6 bonus feats. Does this seem like a viable representation of bloodlines? |
