"Discuss" Link for half the articles don't go to Discussion thread

May 16, 2011 17:54:38 The "Discuss here" threads are started by MaximumHavoc, a volunteer working for/with me in the DDI forums. Late at night (shortly after midnightish) or early in the morning (9-10ish Eastern) he creates the threads for people to discuss them. He also makes a Master List in the DDI Announcements forum.

Not MB, but I'll try to cover this correctly. It is preferred that all discussion in the DDI Article discussion forum remain in the official threads. Not sure if it's still the case, but when the forum was created it was implied that it would be for only official threads on specific articles. If MaxHav hasn't created a discussion thread and you want to discuss the article, you are encouraged to create the official discussion thread yourself - it is highly requested though that you use the template of the other discussion threads.

Another reason to use the official ones (or make an official one in the appropriate area) is that WotC staff will look at those ones to get a nice gauge of the community feedback concerning the article.

i see what you mean about the "Discuss" hyperlink on the article's webpage.

to reiterate one of the points made by mudbunny, i recommend that you look in the D&Di Announcements subforum--found under the D&D Insider section of the main forums page, about four-fifths of the way down the main page--for a (hopefully) complete list of article discussion threads.

i hope that this helps.

Nope. If you beat him to it, your thread becomes the official thread. If you post another thread, it won't get closed - there are still two threads floating around for the Options for Everyone article, for instance.
