As I am sure you have heard there have been some changes here at Wizards. Parts of those changes involve me pursuing other opportunities.

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you. Thank you to everyone here who harbors the kind of passion for games that makes this community so great. It has been a pleasure, and an honor, to work for you all.

While Wizards is in the process of developing new CM procedures, I am grateful that I am able to leave this community in the capable hands of WotC_Mike. He’s a great guy, and a truly committed community man! Please be kind, supportive and helpful to him, he deserves it!

I now take my leave with nothing but admiration and gratitude in my heart, for this community and for the opportunity Wizards of the Coast provided me. (Yes I know it sounds like canned speech, but I really do mean it!)

Happy gaming one and all!

Sincerely,
Jennifer "Solice" Paige

It won't be the same without your happy cheerful "face" around here, but I'm glad you seem to be taking things in your usual, optimistic, happy stride.

Here's to you, and all you've done for the community!

Thank you, for being you and allowing your personality to shine through onto the forums.

It has always been a pleasure to work with you.

I wish you nothing but the best.

Hey! I got my ear pierced back in 1982 in Vermont. VERMONT! They used to beat people up for doing crazy things like that!!

Sorry, I've lived 3 or 4 very different lifetimes up until now so I know I have no idea what I will like 5 years from now (so no permanent marks on me). Though I do keep hoping that skinny ties come back into style!

Instead of the inked goddess you will just have to put up with me, chrome dome

Thank you Solice! You will be missed!

-Maybe she is. Maybe WotC_Mike is Solice's MuP?

-I will say, Solice, you were very easy to work with, and it's too bad that you won't be around (in your former capacity) any longer.

I have nothing but regret that you must go and appreciation for what you did while you were here.

I hope to see you on another gaming site in the near future. Enworld sure could benefit from your talents.

Thanks for taking great strides in fixing the mess that was left behind by certain incompetent individuals who shall remain nameless.

Good luck in your future ventures.

Solice,

Like the old song by Peggy Lee says, “...there will be another spring.”

Here’s hoping yours comes sooner rather than later, and is flush with new and fulfilling opportunities.

Goodbye, and good luck.

So long Solice. I had a blast up in Seattle for the Gleemax Advisory Board meeting and I appreciate everything you did making that trip happen. It was great meeting you and I wish you the best.

Solice --

You don't know me. We've never communicated directly before, though you've replied in a couple of threads I posted questions and comments in. Basically, I'm just one of many regular visitors to these boards.

From the volume of other messages in this thread, it's clear I'm one of many forum members who was saddened to hear you have been laid off by WOTC.

Personally, I'd come to see your presence and your contributions to these boards as a reassuring element, especially since you were one of very few WOTC employees to try to maintain regular communications with the customers/posters/fans of the game who populate these boards. You may not have always succeeded in that, but you always TRIED, and you maintained a balanced and courteous manner in doing so. That counts for much in my book.

You have my heartfelt condolences for your situation, my sincerest thanks for what you brought to these boards, and my deepest best wishes for your future endeavors.

And considering the timing of this development, just three weeks from Christmas, this may sound hollow, but I wish you and your loved ones a prosperous and joyous holiday season.

May 2009 bring you new and better opportunities.

Good luck to you,
Knightsfyre

I wish yourself and all the others laid off by WotC the very best for your futures.

As a side-note, I find it curious that the D&D front webpage still has the advertisement looking for writers & submissions, saying that WotC is "always on the lookout for talented writers", when they've laid off some very talented writers this week. The joys of company PR spin I suppose.

It's caled outsourcing. They're looking for freelancers, which they need since they have less staf writers.

It saddens me that the best online worker on these boards is let go in this fashion. Best of luck, Solice, and maybe you will find work where your more appreciated.

Thank you for all your hard work on these boards and for whatever wasted work you had to do for the ill conceived Gleemax.

I've said my peace once, but I do want to reiterate/clarify.

You were one of the few people/things that existed that made both these boards and WotC palatable. I left for a while because of my distaste (at the time) of 4e, but also because I was tired of the nonsense. You made being here meaningful again, and I came back, in part, because of you.

I am deeply sorry to see you gone. On a selfish level, I really do hope you move on to another roleplaying venue...enworld, paizo, really whatever. You did very good work. That work should have a venue to continue. You, as a person, should have a place to do it.

There isn't talent out there like yourself. I hope others recognize that and snatch you up.

Best of luck, and if you want a fan reference, I'll jump at the opportunity.. (and it's sad to say--for them, but I am more of a fan of you, Randy Buhler, Mudbunny, Wolfstar, and others than I am of WotC).

I think there are others at enworld and on these forums who agree. Stellar job, even in a very short time. You did more to improve these forums in your brief tenure than your predecessor did in his long slog through employment...I think he even forgot this was part of his job for a while until we started getting uppity. That was never the case with yourself...here or, as I have read, on the Magic forums.

Take care.

You rock.

My hopes are with you. (If I prayed, prayers would be with you, but I don't... so really, I offer you the best that I have.)
