We're all familiar with the pattern by now;

1. Thread started by concerned poster to discuss the state of the forum.

2. Some decent ideas get thrown out, a little progress potentially made (though the latter is debatable).

3. Trolls, sensing a threat, jump in and do their level best to bait other posters into getting the thread locked.

4. Other posters take bait.

5. CS, in it's infinite wisdom, locks thread that was productive just a few posts before because it's easier than banning troll.

6. Poster from last thread starts new thread and cycle repeats.

Now, those of us who are actually interested in discussion can't control #3, but we can refuse to do #4 in an attempt to avoid #5. Not that any of that matters until moderation improves to the point where we can actually have a productive discussion about it, but I thought I'd throw that out there.

I really don't appreciate being called a troll. I wasn't doing anything wrong as the mods did not edit any of my posts whatsoever. So why would you ask for me to be banned? Anyways, I've got a potluck to go to, I'll probably check in here and there but I'll be away for the most part. Geez, you guys are wound so tight you could be used for a slingshot band.
