Oh sweet jesus, screwed up like putting some of the epic topics in the Character Building forum, you guys do realize that epic play in 3.5 encompasses many different topics including classes (and as such, had a forum of its own) right?

way to screw up more than 4 years of useful posts. That forum covered epic classes, epic prestige classes, epic magic items, epic spells, epic monsters, epic templates and more, I cant believe its been stuffed into such an inappropriate forum.

Oh wow, its even worse than I imagined, instead of having a single resource for epic games, the threads are being split into multiple forums, and not well either, the epic spells emporium thread is in the Spells, Invocations, Psionics, and Magic Items forum under the D&D fundamentals forum, and other threads about epic spells are going Classes and Class Features forum, this is possibly the worst reorganization ever. Ever.

I found you guys - or at least some of you....and some posts.
I don't even know where to post the thread I was planning to do - which was to discuss the 4E economy as it affects Epic and how we can learn in the existing Epic games from that. Plus a second discussion on Minions and how they affected Epic games. I guess that would go in the Monsters forum - but the idea was to help bring 4E ideas to Epic games, so the thread now won't be seen by the intended audience.
Keep Epic in your titles, so I can find the threads. I can't possibly subscribe to all those forums it would take to keep up any more....
I guess I will be back when the epic stuff finally gets broken out. Of course that will never happen because we won't reach the 25 post threshold if everyone is waiting until this reorg becomes usable to use it....Catch-22. I don't have the time to be responsible for making this place usable again...

It's been merged with the Magic & Spells forum. Congratulations, we have yet another Psionic X. Ironic, isn't it?
I've asked that question several times without an answer. I'm going with "yes" as the answer for Player Advice until I'm told otherwise.
I would disagree. We have D&D 3.5 General which will work for any question that is not related to one of the other 5 categories. And most player questions will be related to the other five areas.
why in the nine hells and every layer of the abyss couldn't you have justed plopped the 4e forums on top of the 3.5e forums and, like you've already done, label them Old Editions.
Easy answer. For the same reason a car dealer does not devote the same amount of space for his 2007 models after the 2008 models come out. Consider the fact that we have 6 Boards instead of 1 the equivalence of the clearance sale.
4e is WotC's new line. It is not prudent to devote as much "floor space" and/or support (whether active or passive) to the old line as to the new.
Prestige Class Subforum: Very clearcut need for this to divide classes and prestige classes, the two rely on each other but are still distinctly different. Having an extra forum makes things less messy
There are no PrC's in 4th edition. Perhaps a new PP/ED forum will be made eventually.
Psionics: Okay, this one seriously irks me. The Psionics forum may not have the highest postcount but the rules for psionics were significantly different from magic, enough so to grant them their own forum in the first place. There were a good number of very unique posts and plenty of contributors and, to be honest simply lumping them in with two other categories is a bit insulting.
In 4th edition Psionics are just another power source and do not have different rules like in the previous editions. More than likely the 4th edition classes and a race or two will be in a PHB rather than having a book of it's own.
Forgotten Realms and Eberron: These two forums had subforums split in to categories for ease of use, it's getting ridiculously hard to find anything in either world forum not to mention the amount of traffic, there was really no need to break down the subforums.
I would guess that new sub forums will be added when the new 4th ed versions of the settings come out.
Epic Level Forum: What in the hells happened to this? I can't find it anywhere and it was a perfectly viable forum given that 3.X epic discussions are different from non-epic discussion
4th edition does not have seperate rules for Epic play but instead has the three different tiers of the character (Newbie/Paragon/Epic) that is split up by levels. (1-9, 10-19, 20-30) Now I know that the Newbie level is called something else, but I am having a brain fart at the moment. Perhaps eventually forums will be made for the other tiers, but no one is at that point yet since the new edition is not yet released.
Other Worlds: This one is ridiculous. There were forums made for each different world because they were all inherently different and didn't belong together. It's like joining together the forgotten realms and eberron boards, you'd have a pack of raving lunatics on your hands. Just because the number of regular posters were low doesn't mean they deserved this. It's a little disappointing
Really, if there is enough call for it I would think that a forum would be made for the world setting in question. Which setting didn't get the separate entry?
Character Optimization: Honestly I have no idea what you did to these poor folks, but seems like it was enough to get some of them to jump ship to www.brilliantgameologists.com.
Well, going to another web page is alright. That is what we had to do to continue the Respite. Clearly, good role playing is not allowed on this site.
In Closing, I have no idea what the point of lumping together clearly useful and relevant forums was, but wouldn't it have saved yourselves and a lot of unhappy forumgoers a ton of grief and unhappiness if you had just plopped the 4e forums on top of the 3.5e forums?
The main reason is that Wizards wants to eradicate any support for 3rd edition and support the new edition that is coming out. I am sure that Piazo will have forums of their own for Pathfinder that will answer any questions about 3rd edition.
I'm surprised Wizards is keeping six forums. When White Wolf upgraded editions, we got one "Old World of Darkness" forum.
And on top of having six now, they've said that if traffic numbers warrant it, they'll expand the section.
I think they could've handled the actual reorganization better (informing communities where there stuff would be afterwards, shutting down for a day and taking their time rather than doing it while people were active, etc). But I think it's pretty difficult to complain about getting six forums - with the chance for more - for a system that isn't going to make WotC any money.
3rd edition is a "Previous Edition" now and garners Wizards no revenue. It shouldn't be surprising that it will receive reduced support from Wizards. As I wrote earlier, it's remarkable that Wizards has dedicated six forums to Third Edition. White Wolf condensed all the Old World of Darkness Forums into one forum at its edition change, forcing Werewolf, Vampire, Mage, Changeling and Hunter players to share a space! Everybody managed it, though (after, of course, a few months of whining and accusations that White Wolf is an evil corporation out only for money and caring nothing for loyal customers).
WotC's marketing wonks need to re-apply for their jobs.
