This group: community.wizards.com/mtgsouthafrica Is Magic group in South Africa filled with lots of (read: 6ish) people. Beyond the fact that the members of that Magic crowd likely has friends who play D&D, Magic players themselves might be interested in playing D&D. I recommend sending a message to each person in that group, and maybe to the gaming shop, asking if they know of any D&D groups for you to join/people who wouldn't mind forming a group in your region, and to spread your message to others.
