Hi, I posted a petition in D&D insider general and it has been deleted without any notification to me.

I was surprised as I didn't know that they are against the CoC. If they are, then fine, I'm okay with the deletion.

If not, though, can someone explain why it was deleted? It asked people to post smileys clapping as a petition to get Ken Troop to actually respond to us lowly customers. It included a screenshot of the last time he logged in....July
second.

Please advise.

In general, yes. Because it's not a discussion, and "polling" (I.E. Creating a thread for just one word responses such as "signed".) is against the CoC.

Why is polling against the CoC? This is the only board I have been on with that rule.

It takes up a lot of bandwidth, just like trolling does. and even though your petiton or whatnot may have been sound, honestly, you would get about a gazillian threads on "who likes 4e? Vote here!" and "If the fighter sucks, sign here!' and "If you think the wizard is a nerf-factory, sign my petition!" and on and on and on.

And that wastes a lot of bandwidth, whch costs money.

So it is ok to talk about a specific person in a thread but not poll about said person? OK? Can't find the one word thing under CoC. Is there a updated one or did I miss it somewhere? Just asking. Not trying to fight.

Edit: Never mind I found it.

6.Do not disrupt chat, forums, blog comments or other communication channels. For example:
Spam through repeated posts, or off-topic content by word or intent to forums or comments (scrolling, flooding, polling, or by "bumping" a post more than once in 48 hours)
Make off-topic posts or chat or trades in the wrong forums or chat rooms (casual chat or roleplay in rooms or forums not designated for these types of activities)
Advertise trades or sales outside of the designated areas
