I've not involved my family much in my hobby.  Let's be honest though, I've played D&D nearly my entire life.  My wife isn't completely unfamiliar (and has the distinction of having once played MtG, something I've managed to avoid doing - along with not watching the Titanic, it's kind of a badge of honor).  Anyway, my two daughters are now extremely interested.

I'd love a place carved out to talk about house rules, plot, conventions, etc. for engaging your children in this hobby.  I'm not talking teenagers; strictly pre-teen / tween / younger.

Is that possible?  Where do I make that kind of request?

Anywhere on the boards where the topic is appropriate shoulld work. We have a board for houserules/homebrew cureently, for example.

If something doesn't quite fit, there's always D&D General. But be sure to check the other topics first.

Err... I think you've misunderstood what he's asking, Webster.

I think he wants to know whom he should approach to request implementation of a new subforum specifically for discussing getting kids involved with D&D, rather than asking where he should discuss that topic in the absence of such a subforum.

Since we are all asking for subforums for each "group", I was wondering if we could get a sub-forum for white, middle-aged, heterosexual, married males.

Thanks!

Nobody is asking for a subforum for a "group". Astrid's is a subforum for discussion of gender issues as they relate to gaming. It's not a "group" in any meaningful sense. Anybody can post there, so long as they're posting something relevant to an issue involving gender in gaming.

ChristopherGroves seems to want a subforum for discussing how to involve kids in D&D. Again, that's not a "group". There is a difference between a subforum for a particular subset of members and one for a specific subset of discussion.

Do you consider CharOp a "group" subforum?

You could check out the D&D Parents group - which is specifically for those who are teaching younger kids about D&D.
