| #2calronmoonflowerAug 28, 2009 3:12:25 | good/bad: All threads have been unlocked. |
| #3DuskweaverAug 28, 2009 3:15:56 | So far, the fact that I can't actually read your post is the worst error I've come across. The formatting's all screwed up and half your text is hidden under that stupid crap that takes up the right third or so of the window. I'm sure I'll find much worse problems given time, though... EDIT: It's not just your post. The same thing's happened to this one. |
| #4mnemonicsvAug 28, 2009 3:18:41 |
Oh, No. Say it ain't so Cal, say it ain't so! Best/Worst error? I'm gonna say how any graphic too large for the (overly narrow) text column causes all text to slide off to the right. Unfortunately Cal, that includes your sig pic at the moment (EDIT - I was mistaken, it's not your pic Cal). ![]() I recently posted in another thread how a simple large-pixel HR command in html can break a page to unreadability. |
| #5DuskweaverAug 28, 2009 3:29:50 | Unfortunately Cal, that includes your sig pic at the moment (and is causing this page's formatting issue I believe). Nope. The formatting error was present even when Pinkrose's post was the only one here. Cal's sig pic didn't change anything. EDIT: I've just tried hiding sigs. Format is still screwed up. Definitely nothing to do with Cal's sig pic. |
| #6mnemonicsvAug 28, 2009 3:33:30 | My mistake.. I just assumed. |
| #7calronmoonflowerAug 28, 2009 3:35:15 | Well in the interm I suggest using the enter button.
Also all legacy foums are currently unlocked. That includes the dreaded 4E Concerns and Criticism |
| #8nonsiAug 28, 2009 3:35:56 | . N O _ S P O I L E R _ B L O C K S ???!!!!!!! I mean, W T F
Interface-wise WotC's implementation of spoilerblocks was their biggest advantage to other forums.
Also, why can't I see other replies while I write mine?! Why should I feep another page open for that ?
And where are my private messages ?! |
| #9calronmoonflowerAug 28, 2009 3:38:28 | And where are my private messages ?! I think the link would be in yor profile. |
| #10mnemonicsvAug 28, 2009 3:41:47 | I figured out why the formatting is messed up in this thread: The particular font Pinkrose is using (Times New Roman I imagine) is not working well with the setup. It's just "wider" than Arial I guess. |
| #11nonsiAug 28, 2009 3:47:17 | And where are my private messages ?! Thanks. It's empty, btw, meaning everything I found interesting enough to keep in there is now gone
Edit: It's in "Messages". |
| #12mnemonicsvAug 28, 2009 3:50:02 | And, by looking at your smiley running off the page (and it's octagonal white borders), I think we can see why a non-white background will have some issues facing it as well. |
| #13nonsiAug 28, 2009 4:09:36 | Funny (NOT!) - I can't see this thread on the Community Business board anymore.

| #14DuskweaverAug 28, 2009 10:03:05 | And, by looking at your smiley running off the page (and it's octagonal white borders), I think we can see why a non-white background will have some issues facing it as well. Nah, that's just an issue with the smilies. It's easy enough to implement smilies that don't have white pixels around the edges. Plenty of other forums manage to have non-white backgrounds with no problems (e.g. www.druchii.net). Evidently, we can post now without even reading the thread! To be fair, people have been doing that since forever. ![]() |
| #15DralenanAug 28, 2009 10:09:20 | From what I can tell, the text wrapping issue occurs in browsers other than Internet Explorer. In IE, it looks fine. Some nice testing there, guys. |
| #16DuskweaverAug 28, 2009 10:14:08 | I figured out why the formatting is messed up in this thread: The particular font Pinkrose is using (Times New Roman I imagine) is not working well with the setup. It's just "wider" than Arial I guess. No, it's not that either. There are other threads with the same formatting problem where nobody has used anything other than the standard font. |
| #17DuskweaverAug 28, 2009 10:20:18 | From what I can tell, the text wrapping issue occurs in browsers other than Internet Explorer. In IE, it looks fine. Some nice testing there, guys. I've just tried viewing this thread with IE. The white space is the right width for the post text, but the top few posts still run under the stupid crap on the right hand side of the screen. EDIT: Oh, and the reason this is a separate post is that I can't just easily edit a new quote into my last post like I could on the old forums because (A) the thread goes away when posting or editing a post and (B) we now apparently have to use a silly number instead of the poster's actual name when attributing a quote. |
| #18DralenanAug 28, 2009 10:21:53 | Now that I've browsed a little more...it seems it only messes up some of the time. I can't explain it, but when I compared the IE and Firefox view, IE worked. |
| #19The_JesterAug 28, 2009 10:23:07 | My favourite error is this: A friend logged in on my box last night. I popped on this morning and hit the forums and went straight to his account. I hit "forums". It did nothing. I hit "logout". It did nothing. I switched to the main D&D page and logged him out there as well and back to the forums. Still nothing. I was TRAPPED on his profile set-up screen. |
| #20DralenanAug 28, 2009 10:27:53 | Actually, I was even wrong on that. What IE fixes is some serious formatting errors on Times New Roman posts (where even the buttons are displaced). Those show correctly in IE, but not Firefox. The preformatted [courier] text still doesn't wrap correctly... |
| #21mnemonicsvAug 28, 2009 21:03:05 | Nah, that's just an issue with the smilies. Yeah, I know. Still... it suggests (to me) a lack of foresight not to properly crop them in the first place. To be fair, people have been doing that since forever. Touché. ![]() |
| #22oldgamer75Aug 29, 2009 10:33:28 |
Now, now. No one actually has to go back there. |
| #23MockAug 29, 2009 11:35:04 | Best one for me so far has been trying to log in, and receiving this message: "You shouldn't be already logged in. Log out and try again." |
| #24dmsdelightAug 30, 2009 10:04:44 | When I try to go to the group I created, it says, "Network has not been properly setup. Please contact the admninistrator". So, I now have to email customer service...because I want this group setup. This sucks. It has potential, and lots of it, I just hate to see THIS many bugs....it's a real drag.
EDIT: Unfortunately, the post count seems right...I have been on these boards for like 5 years or so, and I only posted when I had a problem or a ruling clarification...haven't been big on the whole complain and whine thing. Nor the 4e sucks/3e sucks thing...I just play the game and have a blast. |
