#1 hiblagrande Nov 21, 2010 2:31:13	Have you guys lost touch with your cusomer base? I've been onboard from the word go, even looked passed the fizzled out  claims promised in the back of my core rules books after being sold on the idea at the hyped up expo at GENCON. I did not say a word. However, The downloadable version of Character Builder was the only thing worth keeping my ddi account open. I did take a look at what was done with the silverlight platform. Unfortunatly I was rebuilding my computer and logged in to download CB, so the old version is gone for good it seems.  Maybe, I'm missing the beauty somwhere or I'm overreacting? Am I'm the only one?  Instead of saying "Hey look at this new shiney bobble, buy it!" Tell me what your new product can do for me. What are the advantages for me the customer, not you,  in this new transaction? As it sits, I can honestly say,  I didn't think it was possible to get Character Builder to function any slower;  you have managed to figure it out.  It's too bad that so many very talented artist and writers will take the brunt of the heat  from disenchanted customers like me. I'll hand it to the franchise, your top dog really know how to drag along fools and fleece the hell out of them. I've already stopped buying your books at PHB3 , now it looks as though I will cancel my subscription as well. Enjoy, John

#3 miciaih Nov 24, 2010 23:33:26	it is a terrible dissappointment to have to beta test a program that doesnt even have all the magic items in it, and doesnt even let me use my multiclass feats easily, and is STILL telling me my HEAVY thrown weapon(axe) is a dex'd based attack, even though the math is correct and showing it as strength.... seriously, if i had known this was going to happen, i would NOT have just paid my yearly subscription.  pencil and paper is better than this. -your beta tester(god forbid you PAY for a finished product) Miciaih
#4 hiblagrande Nov 25, 2010 6:18:47	My initial rant was fueled by the fact that I had just spent 8 hours debugging and ultimately rebuilding a computer for the purpose of running CB and other D&D programs faster, ( old work laptop full of misc. crap from 3 previous owners ). After wiping the drives, reloading the OS, downloading all of the updates for window etc. the very first program I chose to load was CB.  Since I did not get the memo, I was surprised when the web based version popped up and was unable to find the old version (not that I looked very hard as it was 3:30 AM and I was ready to crash). This would pose a problem only because the game shop where we play does not offer wi/fi.     Later I was showed by a friendly member on the forum where the old version still resides and all is good in my world now.   I do see the advantage of the service for folks who want to use their 3g type smart phones as their character sheets with all updates resident on servers. The drawback,  I have had many problems with the other web apps offered from Wizards. The tools are great when they work, but for me it seems to be a craps shoot.   Seems as though programers and web designers are trying to pacify a boss who does not know what he wants but wants it done now and I know they are trying their best.  Since I have already paid for this quarters membership I guess I have a few months to see how it turns out.

#6 miciaih Nov 25, 2010 22:56:50	edit, it is also FANTASTIC that i cant let my party use this at the same time, if its time to level up characters, YOUR SCREWED, one person at a time.  good game, seriously, so annoyed i may quit playing for awhile(yes, based on this.  i nerdrage like a pro).

#8 calant Nov 30, 2010 5:17:34	I'd like to add another voice against the new CB. In particular, the character sheet has a horrendous layout and choice in box positioning and fonts. Worst of all, it's has NO customibility. What's the point of a character builder if you can't print a decent character sheet? The old CB had a high degree of character sheet customibility and printed character sheets as I wanted them. The new one - utter rubbish. So - given that Wizards has ruined the whole point of a character builder for me (the character sheet) you can be sure I won't renew in January.
#9 calant Nov 30, 2010 5:21:00	seriously, if i had known this was going to happen, i would NOT have just paid my yearly subscription.  If I were you, I'd cancel the sub and demand a per diem refund. I'm halfway in a three-month, so it's not really worth the hassle to me... though I suppose I should just to voice my outrage in an immediately financial way.
