#1 The_Jester Sep 30, 2009 22:41:28	Probably the wrong forum, but can't seem to find a "new forum/community feedback" forum.    I have a blog. Update it every weekday. And I occasionally get reviewed (1-5 starts).  However, the average rating seems a little off. Like how I can have a single review yet an average rating of "3.2" or "3.7".
#2 drnick Sep 30, 2009 22:53:42	It seems to be intentional. I had heard it was so that one review doesn't skew the blog to an immediate 5 stars so it tones down the first several reviews somehow. I heard this from an unverified source so take it for what it's worth.
#3 Paulon Sep 30, 2009 23:09:41	I saw it in one of the official responses. Apparently they start with a default rating of 2.5 (50%) so it's harder to inflate or deflate the blog rating with just a few reviews.

I saw the same official statement as well, can't remember where... To the OP and anyone else interested. There is a group called Wizards Community HQ. To avoid a blog getting ranked at the very top (or bottom) of the rankings by one or two people, all blogs start with an initial ranking of 2.5 or 2.7 (somewhere around there. I am too lazy to do the math.) That way, when you see a post that is ranked really high (or low) you know it is because a significant number of people have looked at the post and ranked it high (or low).
