It turned into an edition war shortly after, but why was the thread closed as opposed to moderating tThe edition warring? Is talking about 4E fans stating what they want out of D&D and would like to see from 5E itself considered edition warring now?

Or that speaking positively about ANY edition before 4e has been modded for edition warring and gotten threads locked. Yeah, not seeing a problem with it happening to you. Besides, don't you remember the rules for the DDN forums? The first of DDN: you only talk about DDN. The second rule of DDN: you ONLY talk about DDN.
