#1 vaalingrade_ashland_02 May 13, 2008 14:51:20	These boards have gotten markedly more 4chan-like in the last year than any forum healthily should be and a lot of it has to do with the glut of image macro use. Pretty much a third of all threads now eventually devolve into people posting stupid pictures declaring how much fail the people they're arguing with has instead of, ya know, actually discussing and making points. I can't really think of any actual value having the tag serves on boards like these or if the value would even outweight the general jerkishness of the macros being used, but there you have it.

Either you and I read entirely different threads (quite possible, given the sheer volume), or you're exaggerating just a wee bit here. ;)

It's interesting. I'll bring it up at our next CM team meeting and see what folks think about the value of the IMG tag.

#8 ecalsneerg May 13, 2008 19:23:58	I've seen maybe two thread recently using pictures on the D&D forums. Yeah, I've seen one or two images used in other threads, but it's still less than 2-3% of threads, at most.

I just looked through the options and it is already an option like Tsuul said. First set of options under Thread Display Options: You have the option to show or hide various elements of messages, which may be of use to users on slow internet connections, or who want to remove extraneous clutter from posts. [X] Show Signatures [X] Show Avatars [X] Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code)
#42 Paulon May 19, 2008 22:28:31	Images are used a lot in the chaotic fiction roleplaying threads in the Play By Post Haven. Losing the ability to use them would be rather annoying.
